Merchant - Where did my bought stuff go?

hi guys, i'm playing the campaign at the moment to learn how to play. as one of the first steps i visit the merchant and buy stuff. in the merchant menu, everything looks ok. when i buy the boots or whatever, on the right tab it shows them in my inventory. but when i leave the merchant screen, none of my characters have the boots, but my money is gone.

can someone help me out? thanks for any comments.
