So I pre-ordered Element, what is the process for getting it once released?

I have been watching the game for 8+ months and am pretty excited about it.  I checked back in last week and saw that they were close to release, so I pre-ordered it.  This is the first time I have pre-ordered a game on Stardock.  This change in the day zero release puts a little chink in the works to boot.

I didn't get any email confirming my purchase, but got this response from Stardock after emailing them asking if there was going to be any pre-download downloads I could get.

"Hello,

There is an Elemental pre-order (order XXXXXXX) for you in our system. Your pre-order is being held until the game is made available to you. When this happens, you will receive your registration information via email so that you can gain access to the game in Impulse.

Your card has not yet been charged, however, you may see a pre-authorization to verify that the funds are available.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

So will I get an email when the Day 0 version is ready?  Do I watch my "My Games" tab and it will eventually show up?

Any info would be helpful.

You should receive an email once you've been charged, and it should appear in impulse after a refresh at that point.

Oh, btw. I do have "Show pre-release versions" checked in my preferences.

That's only for betas, so won't be needed tonight.

Why should he lurk. It's a legitimate question and a lot of people are worried that they won't get the game tonight all due to a sales screw up for some people.

if you had pre-ordered it last year, then you are in the beta and are a beta tester assuming you were billed after your pre-order

Thank you 2hawks.  It is nice to hear that the sales folk aren't off on Sunday and the pre-orders are being worked on so the excited crowd can get in on the goodness early.  Thank you again for the response.  Looking forward to starting the download!!!!

I pre-ordered this morning, do I have to wait for a registration key to be emailed to me or will the game just appear in my impulse downloader at some point in the next day or two?

have same problem atm, but then again I preordered 48 hours ago, so take it I will be one of the last to have acces :)

 

Fun thing is I just found out about the game 3 days ago and I  was like..wth civilazation and warlords ran into each other and had a baby...called Elemental......cool

To be clear you are billed once you pre-order..yes? I certainly had enough money in my bank account when I pre ordered it last year but this is a tight month for me and I don't need any rude surprises. X(

No. You get billed when your pre-order is processed, it's very clear about that. If you ordered in the wee hours of the morning, like a lot of us here just did, someone is going to have to process your pre-order on their end, send you your registration key for download, and charge your bank account. If you ordered today it should be done today, but it's not instantaneous like Steam.

 

It took about 1.5 hours for them to charge me and get my download code, so I think you should be good.

I got the email.  In the email there was a link to a 27meg file.  After downloading it, it updated Impulse and then Elemental appeared on the "My Games" tab.
