Just saw the email that talks about release and says pre-orders will get to begin downloading a day early on the 23rd.  Does this mean we're only going to be able to 'pre-load' or still get to play on the 23rd as was discussed earlier? 

My impression was that pre-orders would be able to play it early as well, but the email just says to begin downloading, and has me wondering is all.

Can we get some clarification on this?

They aren't charging any of the newer preorders (post beta 4) till sometime tomorrow probably. Seeing as how I work till 6pm tomorrow night its all the same to me. It will be here waiting for me to download when I get home.

What do they class as "newer" preorders?  as I ordered weeks ago, so its not particularly new, per se

Probably not until you're charged. I never got my purchase confirmation email either. When I emailed sales support they said I had one in the system, and told me the order number.

 

Why am I reloading the forum, when I know it's going to be at least 7 more hours to release? I'm going to bed now.

I have pre ordered the game, did it 2 weeks ago, but have not received any email about my order or the 23th mail.

And as far as I can tell, my card hasn't been charged.

if you pre ordered from stardock you need to email [email protected] and deal directly with a sales support staff to figure out whats wrong..

they said they havent got anything planned for next year except supporting elemental..i would assume galactic civ 3 would be the next step.

twohawks are you saying that as of this time if our card hasnt been charged we should contact sales?

Just trying to figure out your context and clarify it before their sales staff gets spammed hard.

I did receive an email receipt for my order but I havent received any news emails or anything, the only other thing I get from stardock is the "impulse buys" newsletter. Should I be sending them an email? 

(obviously if we HAVE been charged but still have no product we should contact sales)

i have only gotten a confirmation email of my order in march 2009 (time i preordered). checking my bank statements, i can see i was charged september 2009, but havent received an email as far as i can tell. im cautiously optimistic that it'll work

how would you actually improve on GalCiv2 enough to Qualify as a whole new game in the series?
