How Will We Know If Game Is Available Early?

I am hoping but not assuming that as someone who preordered a couple of months ago I will get early access to Elemental. Comments from Frogboy (that's Brad, right?) seemed to indicate early access might be available for at least Beta testers on Sunday or Monday.
My question is this: If the current serial numbers are invalid, will new ones be issued via e-mail when the release is available for download? Looking at Impulse won't tell me as far as I know, and there's been no mention of a preload option.
Stardock, please don't be silent on this. As someone who gave you $50 a couple of months back and an additional $20 recently for the LE edition, I think it's not unreasonable for a little clarity on this.
