A Dreadful Mistake: How Not to Plan a Vacation.

Hello All,

So I've made the dreadful mistake of having a vacation planned during the same week that Elemental comes out. I won't have access to my computer or the game and shall have to wait an extra week to get my hands on them. Do you all have any suggestions for helping me get through this terrible time of anticipation?

Thanks,

Joseph

Write a plot that can be refined into a campaign for Elemental :P

Enjoy your vacation, man :)

I'm going to have the first vacation with the woman I love in this week -- we're leaving tomorrow, indeed. Elemental will be a great game, maybe the best of all times, but some other things in life are just unpayable :)

Fake illness and stay home for "vacation". If you can't play Elemental I wouldn't even call it a "vacation" as it would be more like an extended stay in hell while trying to find a glass of ice water.

Good luck and gods speed.

Would it be wrong to have the game mailed to me during vacation (I know where I'll be staying) on the off chance that I might find a computer somewhere to play it on? Or does that sound a bit obsessed?

Have you considered added shipping time? Or are you talking about changing the original shipping order from Stardock? I don't know if you can do that.

I feel for ya.

If you find a computer just load Impulse and DL it.

Buy the Book and read it.

I too had a Vacation pushed into the release week, luckly I will be able to have my computer with me, just not enough time to play like I hoped.

Normally on a game releases that I have been waiting for, (fewer of these every year),

I tell the wife in advance, order Pizzas, turn phone off and enjoy.

This time I will be playing at night after visting friends and their too cute twins that just hit 6 months.

The good news is both like to sit on my lap while we play, so I'll sneak some time in after feeding.

Twins that is....

So Brad you have 2 Gamers learning, maybe one day they will make games too.

I would say that depends on how you planned on having it mailed. What if your vacation is over and you leave before it gets there? If a dishonest person works there do you think they'd mail it to you if that happened? Or would they keep it and say it never came in the mail? Of course you could always go with express over-night mailing or something I suppose. I'd say it's up to you but I agree with Annatar that sounds a bit risky.

Um...

It's just a game.  It'll be around supported for a decade at least if Brad has his way.  I'm guessing your mental health will be better if you just forget about it while on vacation and then enjoy it all the more as you get back home to a nice 'surprise' (well you won't be surprised).

It's fun to be excited about it, but you do sound a bit obsessed, which isn't fun for anyone else around you...

Chloroform the wife, rent a storage unit and tie her to a chair.  Load elemental on a laptop outside, play, occasionally enter the room wearing a ski mask and mutter and make weird demands and feed her/give her water.  After a few days, rescue her as yourself!  Then you are the hero and get to play elemental!

Just read the forums those days. I think they are going to be playing "Trolls versus Fanboys", "The Bug that destroyed my day", "Not without my elves", "The game that was not betatested", "Games are from Venus, gamers are from Mars", "Frogboy, we want your babies!" and other Greatest Hits in gaming forums in similar dates.

Those are some messed up topics...LoL.

Wintersong,

Dejavu! I think I've seen those topics on another forum... except for the Frogboy babies one... and I'd rather not see that one.

Find the book of necromancy, then research the "homonculus" spell.  Send the homonculus on vacation so you can stay home and enjoy the game and nobody will know!  haha
