Elemental CE info

I have been following this game since its annoucement, but I have held off on buying it until now. I am currently trying to decide between the standard and collectors edition, but I am having trouble finding concrete data about the lore book. While the other included items are nice, they are rather minor to me (maybe with the exclusion of the statuette).

So, if anyone knows, could you please tell me the length of the lore book, its cover material (paper or hardcover), and its rough dimensions (ie. paperback, pamphlet, etc). Also, I saw the scans released via interview. Were those black and white scans or is the book black and white?

I was also wondering if the special edition will be available in stores or only through online orders. I have seen it carried on amazon, but I cannot find its listing at bestbuy or walmart, and the gamestop page does not say if the CE will be carried in store (plus, I amopposed to buying pc games at gamestop).

Thanks for any help.

I wasn't aware that was even an option. You may want to double check on that. By that I mean I know you can upgrade right now while its in the preorder stage, but I have a feeling no such upgrade will be offered once the 24ths delivery date has come and gone.

Well as the devs have said and I have no doubt will repeat, the CE really is no money maker for them they actually make no extra off of it, other then offering cool stuff to the fans of the game that want it. I myself bought the CE which comes with everything and a digital download version, As with their title Sins , I won't open it, eh call me sentimental, but I think it's cool I have these collector titles from stardock when they still are small ;) I predict a big future for them, so alas this is my reason. As far as the book that comes along with it, there are no details other then what you know. If that's not enough bud, then well your best off getting the standard edition as again it helps the devs not which one you get, other then at least getting one version of course :)

the devs said they will have plenty of LE after the release  i just hope they wont remove the option in pre order :(

Actually I remember BW saying the exact opposite of this. To me this implies that the LE, and also the upgrade from digital to LE would be pre-order only:

Quoting Frogboy,

Because of how expensive the Limited Edition is to produce, we will only guarantee enough units to provide to users who pre-order it.

From the OP on this thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/385399

They have also stated that the LE will be available in retail stores. From all this I gather that the LE will be produced to meet all LE pre-orders, and an additional number will be produced to distribute in retail stores. You will not be able to upgrade your digital pre-order to LE in a retail store. And I am quite sure that if the limitedness of LE is still true, you will not be able to upgrade your digital copy to LE after the 24th.

Now it's very interesting if they have changed their position on this. If you remember where someone from the Stardock team has claimed that there will be plenty of LE after release, post it here.

Yes, the LE (there is no CE, only LE) will be available in retail stores in limited numbers. I don't know the details of their retail distribution channels, so I can't tell you where you might find it.

Thank you for the info.

I have always used CE and LE interchangeably. Is there truly a technical difference beyond what marketing decides to call it?

Gamestop and others I am sure list a limited edition... however normally these are only available for a short time... If you are interested I would pre order it or you risk not getting one.. I work at game stop.. when a pc game releases with a limited edition we and no one pre orders it we get 1 or 2 of each regular and limited edition for release... I cant tell you how many time (other then to say more often then not) some one wants one but did not pre order an we cant get them one the very week after release.. I am not saying this is the case with all games nor Elemental in specific but if you want one you have to ask your self is it worth the risk of not getting it.
