Who needs the sins game music when you have...

post your own!

More epic standins you've found for the Sins music. I just got back from a summer at the Tanglewood institute, so I've had the Boston Symphony literally down the road from me, and I picked up some good tunes...

I'll start, with Night on Bald Mountain

I haven't listened to the Sins music since a few weeks after Sins's release.  Instead I listen to SomaFM.com.  I like Space Station Soma, Beat Blender, and Trance's Trip.

Hah, kind of techno on the Space Station Soma :)

Out of all the music I added in my personal music replacement mod, I think this was the most fitting track as a replacement for one of the Vasari themes. It's not classical, but then an evil alien race invading the universe probably wouldn't be having orchestra music on their soundtrack anyways.

When I listened to this all I could think of was Mortal Kombat. Is that wrong of me? lol

Ive not replaced any music in Sins but added to it. Mostly other game music. Currently I have what the DS mod adds plus about 70 more other tracks added. Yeah....Im a nerd.

Not necessarily, its not uncommon for artists from that genre to get hired to do video game music occasionally, and I know of at least one who did a Mortal Kombat track. Of course I never played Mortal Kombat that much (the Soul Caliber series is my fighting game of choice), so it doesn't relate to me. I don't know if it was the Mars reference, but I've always picture aliens with that track, so it was a natural choice for me to add it.

I actually really like the orchestral arrangement of the Vasari music. The dissonance and pizzicato in the strings works well to set up a spooky feel.

Actually it was my dislike for the Vasari music that got me working on creating a personal mod to replace the whole games games music in the first place. It certainly was spooky, but it made it hard for me to do much strategic thinking while playing as them. Once I replaced the music they went from my least played race to about equal with the Advent and TEC.
