[805] [Crash] CTD and now cannot restart

from Elemental Forums

After adjusting the resolution, Elemental minimized and sent me to my desktop.

I then could not maximize the game. Only the "Close" option was available when right-clicking in the toolbar.

After three attempts, I was able to shut it down from the task manager.

Currently, cannot start the game.

I Select the game in Impulse, press run, click "play game", the play game screen disappears and then nothing happens..

go to your my documents directory then my games and delete the elemental directory. That should fix it.

maybe similar problem but i started up first game after update... on the loader program i clicked the update button.. exited program and left me at the impulse program.. i figured it might throw you to impulse to update (even though i already had impulse open in the background).. I tried to load the game again... no response.. nothing.. the game refused to load.. then i went into my task manager and noticed the elemental loader program was sitting there doing nothing.. i killed it and tried loading the game again.. this time is worked fine..

Yep, the Elemental.exe was running under Processes, killed it and it loaded.  Vaul wins the prize (which is yet to be determined).

As a place holder I had a similar issue :(

 

I also have problems loading saved games (some won't load and some won't render correctly); I have a dual core e8400 and 8800gts nvida card.

I had this issue early on.  Since I know that occassionally this sort of issue can happen with Firefox (will not run because part of it is still stuck in memory) I knew what to try to fix it, and it worked.  But still, this is a large bug and needs to be fixed quickly, especially if it's one of the earliest bugs that can happen in a Beta 3 game.
