Favorite Skybox? Or ideas for other kinds?

I've had a couple ideas and I wanted to make them, but I can't quite figure out how the game reads the texture files. I got a whole bunch of starscapes I would love to see.

I like all of them, except that blue-white one which looks like a sky. Space should NOT be white, nor should it look like a sky. Even not using colored skyboxes is cool. Space should be dark. Dark, cold, and empty...

I like the blue one its like tau 37 in freelancer I do agree that its unrealistic though.

I always assumed it would be like the map was in a huge nebula or something, but I'm not sure if we have found any that big. I think it's all right, only the green one occasionally causes me problems.

Nebulae do get that big but as far I understand the particles are to diffuse to be seen unless you are a very long way outside the nebula.

I don't know why, but I love the purple skybox, maybe because it makes the ships and structures shiny.

I agree with you unneta, I personally like the purple and then probably the black one, or even the dark blue one, the other colors, such as the red, light blue or even green don't even make sense

:)  i think it would be interesting to see a "shattered" starscape skybox. 

Just to mix things up a bit and something very different.
