I just pre-ordered Elemental and am wondering how to particate in the beta program

Ordered a few mins ago actually. I was under the impression that a beta was available at the moment that was open to all preorder folks. Did I miss a deadline or something? Will I be able to partcipate in future Elemental betas at least? I've been in other game betas before and enjoy seeing a game evolve over time as features change and ago, I also enjoy the bug squashing aspect of beta playing, and I also fully understand that that is what betas are actually for.

Also, I do in fact have "Show prerelease software" checked in the Impulse preferences box. Thanks for your time, I am just curious about this particular question.

I'm not in the beta nor have I preordered (probably won't even buy, but we'll see), but if I recall correctly, you had to pre-order by a certain date to get into the current round of beta testing....which from what I'm to understand, isn't fun anyway.

However, and I may be wrong, I recall hearing that there would be a second round of beta-entry for preordering customers at a later date. If that's still in the cards, then you'd get into that round of it.

Again, I'm trying to recall from memory. It could be a bit wrong.

Yeah, looking around that seems to be what the deal is. Thanks for the response though man, much appreciated. In this case I should just hold out til the next phase then, heh heh.

IIRC at the moment the beta is closed, but Brad said it would open again at Beta 2.

This ^^

Once Beta 2 starts, we'll charge all of the pending pre-orders, and issue serial numbers.  Once that happens, make sure you have the 'Show pre-release versions' option checked in Impulse, or Elemental won't show up.

don't expect it to be fun.

really.

they're not kidding, and you will be disappointed.

Brad's just started on the AI, and no one has seen how the multiplayer works (or how well) not to mention the graphical engine is bound to have glithes and leaks galore when we first get to see it here in beta 2.

On the upside, though, we get to help shape how the game is going to turn out to a much greater degree than in other betas.

To me, that would make it fun in and of itself.
