AI too aggresive in .302?

Ever since I installed .302, the AI players have been attacking me incessantly without provocation.

Is this behavior to be expected?

Yeah the AI has been constantly declaring war on me all through 1Z, it's to be expected. The only change I've noticed with .302 is that the AI follows through on its declarations of war with actual attacks more often. They haven't "done" the AI yet, this beta is mainly aiming to get the game running without crashes so we can move on to the multiplayer beta 2, don't expect a real AI just yet.

I realize the AI hasn't been officially implemented yet, so I wonder what the change in .302 was that prompted the new behavior.

It is pretty annoying.

I was attacked by an army of 6 peasants in .302! :w00t:

It reminds me of the SOASE beta when the AI would send one ship at a time to attack you. I get about one or two peasants and maybe the sovereign by himself, not even stacked with the peasants.

Like the rest of you, I've been seeing wave after wave of peasant armies, usually 2 but sometimes up to 6 peasants.  The last game I just sat my sovereign near the troll cave and fought off the peasants, eventually getting my sovereign up to level 6 before I tired of it.

Ignore the AI for now.  It's uber bad, really basic stuff.  Wonder when it'll get done though?

Wow never seen that.

Overall though the AI is a joke. I don't really care that they declare war on me cause they are like flies. I simply swat their armies down without any problem and I use them to grind my SOV up to higher levels.

EDIT: Grinding is really importanting in 0.302 because essence now only gives you 0.5 mana per point. And raise/lower terrain spells now cost 20/30 mana. Which means you need 40/60 essence to cast them and you only start with 15. So if you only build 1 city you need at least 3-5 levels to case them.

It plays too much FarmVille.

Well that does have advantages Wintersong. Why build a bunch of early Gardens when you can let the AI build a Town full, then you can capture it, send a Peasant or 2 into Garrison it and your Global Food needs are all but looked after. Helps extend the Turns allowed before a CTD as well. LOL

o.O ... erm, shouldn't essence allow for 1 mana per point? I mean ... thats the whole idea right? For essence to be really really strong? Just up the mana cost even more for certain spells, but keep our cheap spells easily acessible!!! :(
