Release date removed from the main page

Just noticed that the main Elemental page no longer says "Projected release date: Sept 1, 2010".

Good idea imho.

They should just put it like this "ETA: The Future"

Projected Release: When Frogboy D**n well feels like it.

In all seriousness it's prolly a good thing they removed it. No point in giving false expectations, when there's a chance that it might not make 09/01.

Some would say: "ETA: before Duke Nuken Forever." But those are evil people that deserve some smiting.:P

Yep, it's coming out next month instead...

(just kidding).

It'll come out sometime between August 2010 and February 2011. :)

Okay ... Frogboy? I rofl'd when I read the "next month" part.

Anyways, I absolutely can't wait for the beta 3 :)

Bad news for people who want it soon, good news for people who want it done right.

I'm betting October 1st.

I'm hoping April 2011+. That way they have time to polish everything till it sparkles. I want Elemental to win EVERY "Game of the Year" award out there and bring attention back to the genre.

*inhales air through teeth* that'd be a 350-1 outsider. Put you down for $5?

Hehe, I'd rather late October. Or even early November. Thanksgiving Break anyone? hehehe

Elemental won't be released in 2010 Q4. It's either September or 2011 Q1 or later.

Hopefully it stays blank. I'd rather deal with when is it coming posts than complaints about the release date being wrong.

Or maybe something generic like "Released when you see it in a retail store near you"

Yea, gotta agree that its better to have an open date and not set artificial time release date.  Over-hyping a product is generally no good.  I think enough of the game has been made to know that most pc gamers will enjoy the game on release.  I also echo the other posters hopes in not releasing until game has gone through a polish phase :).  I know many of you have been anticipating this game and have followed it for far longer than I.   It's definitely its own game no matter how much I would like it to be MoM2.  Besides, it still seems early in development.  There are a whole host of features and gameplay options still to be implemented and tested.

Since this product is also using a new "engine"(Kumquat) and is Stardocks first release of it; I am sure they want a great experience for everyone.  For people who are not in testing, you should know that this game will keep you entertained(If you like fantasy/strategy gaming).  Please be patient with Stardock.

I am going to say it gets released December 21st 2012. We will have one day to enjoy it's awesomeness.

I'm hoping for summer 11. That way it won't completely destroy my grades during my freshman year at college.

It'll almost certainly be 3Q2010 or 1Q2011. It won't be beyond that really. At some point, we'd just be futzing around.

Right here then: Real vampires: 1) do not go to high school, 2) are not emotional sissy boys, and 3) DO. NOT. SPARKLE.

ANY SF beats Twilight. Even STAR TREK of all things, beats Twilight.

Well if he was dissing the most recent Star Trek "movie", then I'd say he's perfectly justified in doing so.

Fneh. I've watched the entire Trek franchise since the first round of re-runs for the original and there have been many weak episodes and films over the decades. Abram's flick is by far the worst effort to actually hit market under the brand. It's an unbelievable train wreck of interesting casting and good fan-boy jokes with utterly, completely, almost supernaturally bad plot structure. Man-sized transparent plumbing in the guts of the Enterprise? Gah.
