Same here.  Never could get past the second part where you go into the crypt and you fight ghosts and graviers- it just got too laggy. 

I wouldn't even consider buying the new one.  CD Projeckt's publisher here in the US, Atari, had absolutely dreadful customer service when I tried to find out what my lag issue was. Still have no clue what is wrong with it, so I deleted it last year.

Nice-looking game though.  And the first one was fun, at least from the parts that I could play.

Loved the witcher, do want more. (maybe wait for some patches though the rerelease was much better).

Admiral:  I actually was able to look past the lag until I cleared the swamp and fought the main boss the first time.  It's a really good stpryline, and gameplay.  If not for that, I wouldn't have played past Kaer Mohren.

Well, part of the issue with the first game was trying to still use the Aurora engine...they're building this game on their own custom game engine. And as for Atari, Cd Projekt is actually shopping this one amongst publishers right now. And chances are it won't be Atari...with them selling off 100% of their European and Asian business, they can't sell the game anywhere but North America these days.

It was really weird.  It ran fine, well it ran okay, up until then and everywhere else in the game.  I am pretty certain it's my computer.  Still, some feedback from Atari would have been nice.  I may play it someday when I upgrade my card.  So, not a total waste. Actually, I'd better since I got the Enhanced Edition for free from Steam.

Well then, I may give it a shot in the future if they dump Atari.  Cool deal.

By the way, I really did like the Witcher.  Not the usual RPG game when you walk around town and you hear a dwarf say things like, "I'll piss on your leg."  Also, a lot of people either really hated the combat or really loved it, there didn't seem to a lot of in between.  I was of the latter group.

Have the enhanced version but never completed the game. Too laggy on my old comp but I am too lazy to go through the story line again.

Anyways wanted to give a headsup and recommend the books. Which are great by the way!

I like the combat system but it sucks if you walk into a building and you cant get the sword out in time.. hope they fix that in the new one.(let us open the door with weapon drawn)  plus those of us with widescreen monitors having squares in all the cutscenes.

I think I will have to dust off my copy of the Witcher and finish it before this one comes out. Looks great!

Witcher 2 does look like it'll be pretty good. I don't think I like the look of the two main bad guys though. They look like hobo's you'd run into in a dark alley, not like sneaky, stealthy, assassins who kill kings. I hope they have something better then that up their sleeves for villains.

The first one performed very poorly for me. Plus, too, I just did not like the game. So no sale here.
