I agree with astrath. WIth delays in Beta 1 and the devs saying we won't reach beta 3 until they are really happy with that it's done, I'd not bet for any date.

In any cae, good news that the site is updated (like that Gameplay option they included some days ago).

We're feeling pretty confident about the date.

The thing to understand is that the *game play* hookup in Elemental is a relatively minor part of the development.  Nearly all of the work goes into the engine which isn't even part of the beta until Beta 3.

Ultimately, the users will be deciding when Beta 3 is.

I hope that means that beta 2 is actually going to be about much more than just dealing with the multiplayer stuff. It would be a real shame to see substantial beta input for the magic system, champions, quests, and dyanastic politics limited to a short few weeks between now and when the 'offical MP phase' of the beta begins.

I think that part of that feedback is going to be based on the users experience playing multiplayer in addition of the single player users that will have that time to keep testing the stuff.

Beta 2 ADDS multiplayer but its focus is integrating suggestions and feedback from beta 1G.

Biggest feedback... Fix cities! If only people could agree on how...

Excellent news that you have a (semi-)firm release date.

Less excellent that it is so far away. I suppose there are worse things to wait for. (Provided the apocalypse doesn't come on Octobre 31st.)

In the event of Orvidos predicted apocalypse I want Stardock to release Elemental so we can enjoy one day of it's greatness while the planet tears itself appart.

Well I'm pretty sure I've seen one of the four horseman, that Bindi Erwin kid, crocodile daughter, there is no doubt in my mind she is one of them...anyone else seen a horseman?

Even "Feeling pretty confident about the date" , people should understand and expect a month or so in either direction, early or late.

The other thing to keep in mind is there is a TON of balancing that needs to be done. Of course the final word on what's "balanced" and what isn't falls to the SD team, but conceivably there will be some things that could be argued well into infinity at which point the game would never come out. It will be up to the Dev team to ultimately say "enough is enough, it's ready" and put it out.

By then I will be tired of playing with the beta and I will put it on the shelves for a respite.... NOT!!!!!!
