Some ancient Elemental quotes (Pre-galciv2 being announced)

I found these ancient Elemental descriptions on the old website. They were interesting. Are they still correct I wonder?

https://www.stardock.com/products/drengin/default.asp?page=comingsoon:

Elemental

Visit the magical land or Arnor where you take up the role of one of the 6 Mithrilar who are battling for control of this world. Research spells, summon creatures in this game that could be described as a bit like Master of Magic meets Magic the Gathering.

https://www.stardock.net/media/drengin_mediaguide.html:

Elemental

In an age of magic there can only be one master of all the forces of magic. In Elemental, you take on the role of a powerful sorcerer who aligns himself with one of the elemental forces of nature for the battle of Arnoria. Conquer cities, make allies of the varied creatures of Arnoria, research new spells, solve quests, and conquer the world.

The mention of the Arnor and Mithrilar from the Galactic civilizations background lore is interesting, to say the least. Mixing it with the https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Altarian_Prophecy Altarian Prophecy background story concerning Arnoria, the fallen and the humans are the Drath and the Altarians respectively. Said back story mentions the Cataclysm after all.

We get 12 Sovereigns so the 6 Mithrilar part isn't accurate anymore.

And in before the scoutdog, Frogboy reuses many ideas of Galc Civ 2. Or better said, many ideas he had before he started Gal Civ (1). As how far he is reusing and/or redefining... who knows. Most probably it's just some kind of parallel universe to that of Gal Civ (in the best of cases), as from some of the background information of Gal Civ and the stories Frogboy shared with us, Draginol could travel through dimensions or something like that. I'm not going to define it as franchise reboot (quite popular these days, be it Galactica, V, Star Trek...), as I do believe that they are just preparing the Lore properly for extensive use in future games (the rpg, maybe Societies could be based on it too?...).

Wait whats this about 12 soveriegns?

I thought I read that there is multiplayer with like 32 players. So is this 12 Soveriegns thing only premade sovs. And are we able to play singleplayer skirmish with 31 ai?

12 factions (6 human kingdoms, 6 fallen empires), each one with a Sovereign. Multiplayer is a different beast in which factions can be used by more than one player (I suppose).

Ya I understand that but can we make our own custom sovs to be used by the ai?

That way we can get 31 ai + 1 human in a game on a huge map?

My reference to 12 Sovereigns was about the story not about gameplay elements (beyond the basics provided by Stardock for single player campaign).

We will be able to create our own factions(and Sovereigns) so I don't see any reason why AI couldn't use them for solo games.o_O
