If they brought Joss Whedon's Firefly back and started making new episodes, would you watch?

Lets try and get as many votes as possible and maybe we can actually get it back! =D

lol, how can you get back a show which stopped 3 years ago?

Of course! Although it might be a little hard to bring it back with the original actors, since a lot of them have other shows now...

I'd watch, but as much as I miss the show, I doubt bring it back is a good idea. What exists is excellent, anything new would likely never live up to expecations.

Didn't the movie kinda nuke the series by killing half the cast off anyway?

No, I think it only killed one "main" character. The pilot guy (oh, what was his name?X| )

You have to ask?

The point of savability is pretty much past now though. :( We'd be very lucky just to get another movie, and I doubt even that will happen.

They can always place the timeline somewhere earlier/later/in between to make it work.

It would be nice for them to revisit the universe, perhaps with a different ship/crew/etc, with cameos from the original cast here and there.

I very much doubt we will get a new season, but you never know.

i laughed my balls off when Nathan Fillion in Castle dressed up as his character from Firefly for Halloween =P it was so GOLD!

you know he also played the voice of Buck in Halo: ODST? i think most of the firefly cast did the voices actually, i was pretty impressed =)

Yes.

...no, wait.

Hell yes.

When I first played, I was like "Hey, that character looks a lot like Nathan Fillion! Hey! He talks like him too! Wait... it is him!"

Jane/Adam Baldwin and Wash/Alan Tudyk (I looked his name up:P ) both did voices for ODST, and Tricia Helfer (Six from Battlestar Galactica) also did some voices. Only Nathan got his physical appearance in game in addition to his voice.

no it didn't.

I can safely say I wouldn't watch Firefly.

I would watch new episodes of Firely in a heartbeat, but sadly it's not going to happen.

*sigh*

I absolutely would watch again and buy every dvd they produced.  Excellent show.  Btw - there are better odds on getting a new movie instead of a TV series.

Also, MAYBE there are other's out there like me, but I didn't see battlestar galatica when it orignally aired on sci-fi.  You need to start watching that series if you never have.  I just finished season 1 and I love it.  Rent it on netflix.

Jane/Adam Baldwin is doing a voice in Mass Effect 2.

3:22 for Baldwin. He even mentions Serenity in his interview.

I'd definitely watch it, but I don't think it's going to happen :'(

I'm just happy we managed to get a movie.

I'd just like to see Joss Whedon & crew get to do another show until they & that batch of fans were ready to call it finished. I'm more or less over the Stupid Cancellation of Firefly. Dollhouse is the fresher short-sighted exec decision that's left me feeling sorely show-teased.

Besides, Whedon needs something solid to hold his attention or he might end up just making more Dr. Horrible sing-alongs for the next decade. Wait, that wouldn't be so bad, except for folks who hate musicals...

I wish he could have obtained the Terminator liscense which he (jokingly) made an offer on. :)

An Open Letter to the Terminator Owners. From a Very Important Hollywood Mogul

Dear Sirs/Ma'ams,

I am Joss Whedon, the mastermind behind Titan A.E., Parenthood (not the movie) (or the new series) (or the one where 'hood' was capitalized 'cause it was a pun), and myriad other legendary tales. I have heard through the 'grapevine' that the Terminator franchise is for sale, and I am prepared to make a pre-emptive bid RIGHT NOW to wrap this dealio up. This is not a joke, this is not a scam, this is not available on TV. I will write a check TODAY for $10,000, and viola! Terminator off your hands.

No, you didn't miscount. That's four — FOUR! — zeroes after that one. That's to show you I mean business. And I mean show business. Nikki Finke says the Terminator concept is played. Well, here's what I have to say to Nikki Finke: you are a fine journalist and please don't ever notice me. The Terminator story is as formative and important in our culture — and my pretend play — as any I can think of. It's far from over. And before you Terminator-Owners (I have trouble remembering names) rush to cash that sweet cheque, let me give you a taste of what I could do with that franchise:

1) Terminator... of the Rings! Yeah, what if he time-travelled TOO far... back to when there was dragons and wizards? (I think it was the Dark Ages.) Hasta La Vista, Boramir! Cool, huh? "Now you gonna be Gandalf the Red!" RRRRIP! But then he totally helps, because he's a cyborg and he doesn't give a s#&% about the ring — it has no power over him! And he can carry it AND Frodo AND Sam AND f@%& up some orcs while he's doing it. This stuff just comes to me. I mean it. (I will also offer $10,000 for the Lord of the Rings franchise).

2) More Glau. Hey. There's a reason they're called "Summer" movies.

3) Can you say... musical? Well don't. Even I know that's an awful idea.

4) Christian Bale's John Connor will get a throat lozenge. This will also help his Batwork (ten grand for that franchise too, btw.)

5) More porn. John Connor never told Kyle Reese this, but his main objective in going to the past was to get some. What if there's a lot of future-babies that have to be made? Cue wah-wah pedal guitar — and dollar signs!

6) The movies will stop getting less cool.

Okay. There's more — this brain don't quit! (though it has occasionally been fired) — but I think you get my drift. I really believe the Terminator franchise has only begun to plumb the depths of questioning the human condition during awesome stunts, and I'd like to shepherd it through the next phase. The money is there, but more importantly, the heart is there. But more importantly, money. Think about it. End this bloody bidding war before it begins, and put the Terminator in the hands of someone who watched the first one more than any other movie in college, including "Song of Norway" (no current franchise offer).

Sincerely, Joss Whedon.

The difference between Futurama and Firefly is obviously that the cast of Futurama doesn't have to deal with real life. They can just pick up where they left of (more or less) and continue like nothing happened.

Firefly is another deal entirely.

But yes. I would definately watch. Firefly was absolutely splendid.

firefly was a great series.

Well, most SciFi series that don't resort to cheap broken plastic noses and a can of paint to create an alien are above average, but firefly was really good.

and the movie Serenity was enjoyable, too. More of the same, please!

oh... so... a cartoon of a bunch of idiots, robots and mutants flying around in a spaceship doesnt have to deal with reality while an acted series of a bunch of cowboys, prostitutes and fugitives on a spaceship fighting zombies and other kinds of unsavouries DO have to deal with reality?

riiight... gotcha ;)

That's not what he was getting at, and you know it.  Don't be an ass.

i can be an ass if i damn well please =) if you dont have the sense of humour to get over it, loosen the screws a bit =)

instead of looking for ways NOT to do something, look for ways TO do something... go watch Yes Man for examples...

Hells yes I would watch it.

for that matter I would watch any new sci fi on TV! When was the last time we got a sci fi series as epic as firefly? Babylon 5 maybe? that was nearly 20 years ago!

but wanting somthing will not make it happen :'(

It's extremely crappy on the Sci-Fi side of things these days, unfortunately.
