lag issues

Hi all. I am currently playing a single player game. I am using the balanced resources map in the large maps. It is an 8 man ffa 100 planets 1 star. I am a few hours into this game and I keep getting lag pauses frequently.The lag didnt start happening until recently. I guess it is because everyone has large fleets and such.

My system has a quad core amd phenom 9550. 6gig ram nvideo gforce 9100 card.

I am wondering on what all I can do do reduce the lag spikes. The game just freezes for a few seconds every minute or so

Well, besides reducing your graphics settings, one thing I'd try is changing the game's priority. Try to give Sins all of one of your core's to run on, because Sins can only use one core for some reason.

Priority is usually changed through the process tab of the task manager (Ctrl+alt+delete). Find the Sins/Entrenchment.exe and right click.
