hi GoaFan check the diplomacy links, I am a beta tester and there are some kinks however I like diplomacy. As for new game modes not sure what you are talking about, please clarify.
Yeah I've been reading the new updates when they come out, that's why I've been worried that the suggested new game modes might have been scrapped. Here's a link to one of the early news articles about diplomacy.

Another topic that was touched upon was the introduction of more paths to victory. At the moment, victory typically requires the complete destruction of your foes, though a couple other routes exist as well. With the heavy focus on diplomacy in the upcoming mini-expansion, Ironclad hopes to add more ways to win as well.
"The second micro expansion is really about both diplomacy and the non-military aspects of the game which will bring it more in line with the RT4X sub-genre we've labeled it as. Certainly, multiple paths to victory, especially non military paths, are part of that," Fraser said, adding that the introduction of additional game modes that will make the game more multiplayer-friendly is also a distinct possibility, pointing to the user-made Sins of a Solar Empire DOME mod as an example.
I know they never said for sure it would be included, but I haven't heard a whole lot about alternate ways to win out of the beta so far. Sure giving pirates missions and making cool diplomatic pacts are nice, but I was hoping for rush rules or territory/wonder victories like in Rise of Nations or something.
