awesome creative idea for a new diplomatic option

hey all...

been following along lately here and clearly this is where the MoM lovers are at. E:TW was cool but not my cup of tea exactly. I basically want that MoM magical experience! I have plenty of ideas, but here is one unique thing I thought of:

Diplomatic Mini Missions ---

Randomly you will get a prompt that a certain new economic gain can be made, but we need the help of another race, and together you either both gain from that resource and as a result improve/degrade relations!!

For example: A rare crystal has been found in a certain mountain, but we need player 2's help to be able to properly mine it! Think of the many little things that can come as a result of this. Ex:suddenly, 2 enemies, find out there is a new NPC 'necromancer' living in the swamps, right at the border, do you wish to help player 2 and send troops?

Interesting diplomatic option. It would tie in nicely with the event system.

Thank heavens you came along! I was getting tired of all the stupid, derivative ideas that everyone else was having. :|

I actually like this idea a lot. It could create a number of interesting strategic dilemmas. Help player 2 get a resource and they might use against you later. So choose wisely who you assist!

A word of advice unrelated to the idea itself: when posting your idea don't title it "awesome creative idea" or you'll elicist sarcastic, dismissive responses from people like Denryu that don't necessarily think your idea is any more awesome or creative than their own ideas, located within plainly labelled, "non-awesome" posts. :)

I like this, too.  It can create some real choices for those kinds of events.

This would actually be quite good. You could have a sort of "prisoner's dilemma" situation here as well, testing the trust between two factions.

I find it refreshing, actually, that someone wrote "super awesome creative idea" rather than "you know, I sorta had this idea, but I don't know if it's good and I don't want to waste your time" sort of deal. If you think your idea is super and creative and awesome, you should designate it as such.

Poor Denryu, having to sift through mountains of derivative and stupid ideas that everyone else was having.

I was going to use the phrase "prisoner's Dilemma"  in my own reply, but then I wasn't sure if it was a universally well known situation?

hey all great to see some positive feedback! :)

I think this could be a basis for a lot of great stories. You are at a long standing war with a certain player, and suddenly this event comes up, and you both decide in your best interests to work together on this one thing, and the long war ends! This directly could add a lot of dynamic changes to every game.

Lots of great ideas here btw, just thought this one to be something that could really change some game dynamics.

There are concepts of magic shards etc... what if a shard was about to die out, but if you and player 3 each give 20 resources of X, your mages together can repair the damage... Now you own this shard now, but perhaps the other player really wants it, and if its gone, no one gets it...

You don't?    Well.  I might, I just don't want to use them.
