I haven't played in a few months, is there still an online component to the game? an online population?

Online is still kicking. The best times to try and find a game are between 5pm-12pm Eastern Standard Time, around which theres between 80-120 people on ICO. I've heard that regular sins games are becoming harder to find, as many are upgrading to entrenchment, so if you don;t have entrenchment I'd recommend getting it.

I agree with what Deceiver said, though I think the best time range is 3 pm to 11 pm U.S. Eastern Standard Time. You'll also find more people on the weekends. When it comes to online multiplayer, Entrenchment is where you'll find the action, including the 4v4's and 5v5's. Now might be a good time to come online since I've seen a number of newer players lately.
