I think you need to brush up on typing..............but i doubt it. SINs is still pulling in players so I only see Diplomacy adding more customers.

The only community is small but steady. I doubt it will grow but I doubt it will collapse too soon

Sales have been increasing so I doubt very much Sins will die anytime soon.

I have no intention of leaving Sins anytime soon, and I recommend it to all of my friends who could possibly be interested in it. Quite a few are after seeing me play it on my laptop on various places.

you base this "theory" on what?

If one thing is persistent throughout all of human history, it would be Sin.

I don't think Sins are going to disappear anytime soon...

Sales of the game itself or the expansions?  I wonder if you guys would get a bunch of sales by lowering the price down to $15 or bundling it with a graphics card.

I did want to ask: Sales increased after the latest patch release? ;) It really helps a lot, but even on an i7 975 I wish for better performance...and that's still the thing which stops me from buying entrenchment and which also prevents me from recommending this game to my friends.

Even if it would require much of a rewrite, I do think that the multithreading should be improved for vanilla sins and it's extensions so that it really does use nowadays multicore processors. Such an update might not give much additional income for sins itself, but it would surely boost sales of any expansions and possible follow-ups, thus it would be an investment that can pay back in the future.

As to the time sins might live: It's really nice, for single player I even do prefer it over Broodwar. Oh, hell...that game is over 10 years old, still has loyal followers and receives updates? See...and sins could do better than that one! The AI already is much better than in most RTS games I've seen, although (naturally) it's still having its weaknesses.

I wonder how long the online multiplayer component of the game will live on, at least on ICO.  (I have no idea how active the Hamachi networks, which may be where you would find the real pirates, are.)  We're getting about 120 people playing the game at peak times on week nights, sometimes getting above 150 on weekends.  A significant increase in sales might help.  Hopefully the release of Starcraft 2 won't kill it off.  I figure that the best thing that could happen for online multiplayer would be the release of an excellent Sins-2 that had a better online multiplayer user interface and perhaps an online multiplayer tutorial with some form of encouragement. For example, the single player Sins might interact with ICO and send occasional announcements to players like, "5v5 needs 3 more players, come join!".

I think if the Devs are to keep this game alive. their best bet is another Expansion that focus's on multiplayer and improves its foundation. With numbers that low. Im willing to bet that any above average game that would compete against SINs would kill online play.....but I doubt SP would lose the base it has.
