Retail Availability
Will Elemental be available for pre-order at major retail outlets (ie Gamestop)? I will have a chance to use a discount and/or gift cards for purchase.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but Stardock usually only allows their products to be pre-ordered through their digital distrabution system -Impulse.
Also if I were you I'd wait until the next beta opens, as the current one is closed so preordering now will not get you into this beta, but will get you into the next.
Not sure when the beta opens again though.
Stores will generally let you preorder just about anything they intend to eventually sell, but we don't do retail preorder boxes and you can only get beta access through a direct preorder. So you'd essentially just be reserving a retail copy for release.
Meh I went to Gamestop, they told me they never heard of it, as well as they never heard of cities XL so i had to pre-order them online, but their selection of pc games is limited to first person shoot carbon copys from consoles, and the most popular releases .
Fixed it for you.
Gamestop is basically a pawn shop these days anyway, they're useless for PC gaming.
I am still not seeing this as a preorder available at my local gamestop.... i just want to make sure i get my copy the day it comes out.... i do get an employee discount and i do mention it to my customers (that i am looking forward to it coming out) but i would like to give them the option to preorder as well.... i do not know if this has any meaning or if i am just crying.....
Its way too early to expect being able to preorder in shops. I would guesstimate a release late next year. Patience young gamer...
lol game is supposed to hit shelves in August...
not really...It seems by now a pretty safe estimate to move that release date a few months back...if not more
I think end of next Summer is pretty safe.
I agree. And since I don't do Console gaming I usally buy my PC games online or go to Bestbuy.
If you are a PC gamer, avoid Gamestop. There is actually one in town here that doesn't sell PC games andy more, and those that do have a tiny section. Best Buy is a much better choice, they've got a whole isle of them (about the same amount of shelf space as any given console). Wal-Mart is also a decent choice. Target also has a reasonable number of games, but since they don't do a whole lot of shelf space for any system, including PC, their selection is a bit limited.
Online gets you a much larger selection, of course, but Best Buy is not bad at all if you want to buy from a store.
I think the longer it takes the better. I can wait until Dec 2010! ![]()
I think it will be out before Dec 2010. And yes gamestop is not good with pc games, more like pawnshops. Better off searching infos on the internets and buy it from offical sites or popular markets. Second hand stores usually hastings, wal-mart and gamestop. Most of them are pulling pc softwares off the markets, all they have is kiddy games for xbox and playstations, blah blah blah.
