Maximum fleet size...

I think there should be no limit.

Okay, I know I'm going to get a LOT of heat for saying this, but...

I think that for the last fleet size upgrade, the number of cap. ships and fleet should be either:

1. Infinite (as in, as many as you can build w/out going under) OR,

2. Expand by 25-50 pts. for every planet you acquire AFTER getting this upgrade (like, if you have 13 planets when you get this upgrade, and you capture 4 more, you'd get a fleet bonus of 100-200 pts.)

1. no absolutely not, have had a 9775 supply point fleet with 9 unfair AIs who were doing the same. Talk about a sluggish slide show

2. bears some consideration, on an ultra huge map this would be almost as bad as explained up top, (mind ya this is a huge map something like 200+) but would be a nice touch to moderately sized maps that would force more expansion in late game than turtling

Alright... let me fix up my ideas and see if that's any better.

A; 15 pts for a terran planet captured after buying expansion

B; 10 pts. for a desert planet captured

C; 5 pts. for a Volcanic, Ice or Asteroid captured after buying expansion

D; 1 pt for a Dead asteroid or Pirate Base captured

You could always mod it so that it gives 9999 (perhaps even higher) and see how that works. I don't think it is as cool as you would think, but that is just me.

in my megasb mod I have  supply top of 3975, and it lags worse than a standard game, but I needed to bump the fleetcap otherwise the ENTIRE fleetcap was needed to kill ONE fully upgraded sb and have most of the caps survive.

Why are you doing that? You have long range missile ships specially for taking out starbases. You can easily take out a starbase without your fleet ever coming under fire.

the answer is that each sb had 36(vasari/tec)48(advent) strike craft AND hull of 22500, shields 16250 armour 22.5,

plus the many hangars in the planet.

also I had tried a fleet of 30 antistructuresgarded by 30 each flaks&lrms&repairs, and after 30 minutes  the sb was still there.

what I found to work within 10 minutes is 30+carriers, 30+flak, 30+lrm, 5 command crusers,10 antistructure,10 heavy cruisers and 20 light frigates

and some gravwells have more than 1 sb, eg wormholes have up to 3, stars up to 4, homeworlds 2.

would you like to attack a wormhole facing 3 megasb's on standard fleet limits?

Soft. I once modded it to give each of the AI plus me 30k supply each.

but the lag was unbelieveable. 1.2 Fps rofl
