I was aware that there were supposed to be multiple expansions, umm, what happened? anyone heard from the developers in a while?
no real news yet. it's by now been the topic of much discussion, but so far we know only that it deals with enhanced diplomacy and possible some non-military aspects of the game. and pirates apparently get some workover. no details though or dates or screens or names.
a site has reported that the expansion will be shown at PAX, which would be early september. let's just hope they finally show us something.
It'll be available when it's finished. My general advice as far as gaming goes today is for people to enjoy what they have and to not get too excited over reported new games and expansions. I say this because about 90% of what's ever released is drek. If a new game or an expansion is good, you will read reports about it and then you can get excited about it.
In the meantime, if you're getting bored with the game as it is now, have you considered playing mods and custom maps or even playing it in online multiplayer with and against real people? Learning the online game and confronting its challenges should take your mind off the next expansion until it's ready to come out.

I would so go but it clear across the country. LOL, would love to meet the guys and gals and say hey.
I think there are a million post bugging them to release something anything. With little sucess.
lol i would go except that I don't have a passport and my parents definetly won't let me go to it without having to pay a bit myself
I play online and build custom maps as well as modify existing ones, it's just been a while, so I was mildly curious.
