Naval Forces?
Just curious, but is there any word on whether or not naval forces will have a place in this game?
If so, will there be multiple ship classes (such as transports, frigates, galleys, warships)?

Frogboy said that the main focus is the land based combat. There will be naval combat but it'll be quite simple in comparison (autobattles I think). About the kind of ships, it's pure speculation at this point.
I reckon that naval stuff will be auto-resolved anyway. Naval stuff requires a different engine to work and ETW, while being by far the best, still isn't as fun or easy to manage as land battles.
Yeah, I would be totally fine with a naval battle system similar to Rome Total War.....where your ships can gain experience BUT all battles are auto resolved strategically.
I wonder if merchants (caravans) will use the seas? I hope they do.

if there are naval forces... there will be more than one unit. (transport and warship of somekind both being required to count as naval forces)
chances are there may also be water creatures.
I want water dungeons. The kind heroes and channelers can only enter if "water breathing" or similar spell is cast.
