Acutally supcom2 could very well be fail also.

I wonder why its so hard to find a good RPG game, titan quest is fail, along with elder scroll, mass effect (no mulitiplayer), ect ect.

I doubt that SupCom 2 will be bad after the first 2 being such hits...

A good RPG game is so hard to find because people expect so much out of them, and they're games, not substitutes for real life.

Well, they apparently had to dumb it down a good bit, so Supcom 2 may well be epic fail.

Where are you getting this from?  I don`t think they "have" to do anything.  GPG owns SupCom and are an independent developer.  They can do whatever they want with it.

There hasn't been a proper RPG since.. like.. Morrowind, or the Infinity Engine.

We're extremely starved for quality in the era of the lens flare.

While I am waiting on pins and needles for SC2 and D3, I definitely do not consider Demigod "filler" and will happily continue to play it along side SC2 and D3.

I am, however, very worried about what I have heard about SupCom2. I want SupCom2 to be a refined version of SupCom1, not this dumbed-down, consolised bastard they are trying to make.

they could be trying to appeal to a larger audience, i never played Supcom because of how complicated it looked and i wasnt in the mood to 'learn' a new game.  I heard nothing but good it though, and i hope they dont 'spore' the next release

Demigod currently feels like a filler because its broken, if it was released in a functional state i think it wouldnt feel that way, but whos gonna make time for demigod when SC2 comes, i probably wont unless my friends somehow get into demigod

I see where you are coming from. DG is reliable enough for me that I can play it rather painlessly. I'll definitely make time for DG when SC2 comes out. Heck, I still play WC3 and SC1 from time to time. I'll fit DG into my repertoire because its very different and matches are only ~30-45mins on average.

Next do Diablo 3, any game is filler.  Filler is actually a pretty kind euphemism for what I'd call any game in comparison to D3.

I've been waiting for a diablo 3 for 9 years.  With all the time blizzard has had their head up their asses for lame WoW its no wonder the good games take forever.  Starcraft 2 has taken about 11 years.

I still play supreme commander as a veteran from the original total annihilation when I was like in 4th or 5th grade on my 200mhz PC (which was kickass then, Lol)  Supcom2 could be extremly good, although losing THQ I wonder what that will cause.  But Square-Enix could add some awesome aspects.

Supcom2 will probably be great but they are dumbing it down, and "making it so when you build your first tank, that tank will level up and be usefull till end game.... we dont want waves of units, and econ will be every easy to manage" i dont like that statement.

ive tried never winter, didnt like that either

-Just bc someone plays a game , doesnt mean they are trying to replace it with their life. Gaming is a hobby just like photo or scuba or something.

Don't you mean replacing their life with it?

Where can I find recent developments on SC2.  As a big fan of the original and it's expansion I was really looking forward to it even though GPG decided to work with Square Enix.  But the best part of the game was how epic the battles seemed and the ability to win on your own terms whether it be by land sea or air.  How is it getting dumbed down?

I am waiting for Elemental and then Diablo three,

I do not expect disblo3 before 2011 so it's STILL VERY FAR AWAY

I wouldn't say "dumbing down" but Subcom 2 as I read in a preview will focus more on managing your fighting units and less on economy.   The economy model in the expansion for Supcom is difficult to manage and can put off new players since a misplaced building during the early stages of battle can cost you the game.  Instead of the big battles in Subcom vanilla, Forged Alliance battles are reduced to superweapon rushing and Tech 3 air unit battles.

Ditto. In that order. D3 is looking pretty polished at this point, so it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it was released in time for the holiday buying season. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it wasn't...

What if both games were released in time for the season? Blizzard would have a virtual lock on sales. Talk about cornering the market.

I still don't think they'll mess up the formula as bad as Dawn of War 2 did.  I wish they had stuck to the mature RTS market instead of trying to make it more of an RPG.  I'm not knocking that scene but I don't think there are really that many solid real time strategy games out there.  Don't get me wrong there were plenty of things they could have improved upon such as the base building and adding more variety to their maps but to take it in such a different direction was imo a mistake.  Shame, cause the graphics were pretty good too.

i wonder if blizzard will make diablo 3 a pay to play game since they will lose a ton of wow players when it comes out

It's taken 11 years for SC2 to come out but it hasn't been in development for those 11 years. Blizzard said they started working on SC2 a few months after WC3:TFT came out. And development has been independent of WoW so WoW has had no impact whatsoever on SC2. Actually, WoW probably had a positive effect on SC2 as all the WoW revenue can be used for allocating more resources to the SC2 and D3 teams. As well as that new-IP-secret-MMO they have in the works.
