This is the official thread for the Sins of the 13th Tribe mod.

Please note that it only works for Entrenchment v1.05

This is a total conversion mod, so the TEC, Advent, and Vasari are no longer playable

The Colonials and Cylons are now playable races

Known Bugs:

  • Some ships do not have names or are improperly named
  • Colonials still glow occasionally

v0.96 Changes

  • Entrenchment v1.05 compatability
  • Fixed String not found errors for the Galactica's colonize ability and the Worldstar's extra squadrons ability
  • Temporarily removed the custom static defense structures, so there will not be any more bug reports about the meshes reverting to the unmodded forms
  • The Cloud 9 is now correctly called the Cloud 9
  • New weapon sound effects for the Galactica+Mercury

well to use this models will be very hard because i don't have any software that can edit this kind of file  :ninja:

they can serve only as example for new made ship.

milkshape whith a certain addon can open them so if you know how to convert them whit milkshape youll be alright

oh... milkshape, my friend try to do that, and that model have to many incompatibility to the sins engine after conversion  :annoyed:  so better to make a new model than trying to convert those.

Awesome mod guys, one of my favorite for sins of a solar empire.  I do have a few questions and/or suggestions to help improve it, the mod seems really unstable, I crash a lot when I play and this usually ends in me losing a lot of progress.  If its just me there may be something I can do to fix it but regardless it is annoying, and is it going to be released for diplomacy any time soon?  I'd like to see what features you can add for it in diplomacy if any. Also, the jump noise for the ships only plays out of one speaker, its not a horrible thing but it does get kind of annoying.  I'm sorry if this stuff has been brought up before, I just didn't want to have to read through 42 pages of posts to see what has and hasn't been posted.

 

One of my suggestions is to add another ability to ships which allows them to jump to other planets withing range without being restricted to the phase lanes.  Its not something I'd really expect to see in the mod but it would be more cannon to the show and a lot more epic to be able to jump ships that way, though I know very little about modding sose so chances are this is going to be pretty difficult if possible at all.

 

Keep up the good work guys, its my favorite mod for SoSE

Do these crashes typically happen a couple hours (1+) into the game? If they do, it's likely because you're running out of memory. Try lowering the graphics quality, and maybe play on smaller maps.

Define "soon" :P Yes, there will be a diplo version at some point. But as I've said before, I am really busy with school and other various activities until around the end of May/begining of June. So I haven't had a lot of time to work on the mod, although it would be a safe bet to expect a release before the end of summer.

Does anyone else have this problem? I do all my modding/playing on a laptop, so I've never noticed it. If no one else has this problem, I'd suspect something is wrong with your speaker/computer. but I don't know.

It's not that difficult to do, but it doesn't work as intended. Look back a couple pages, I explained why it doesn't work.

The crashes are about every 20-30 mins, they occur very frequently, I have a really good computer so I doubt that it is the graphics but I'll try turning them down a bit and playing more.

well maybe try to use the dev.exe once you will have crash you will see what happened.

and post the log from it.

The mod is not downloading from megaupload its stopping at all types of various points.

It was definitely the graphics, I was really surprised but I turned them down and was able to play a 5 hour strait game without crashing once.

It because Sins has the 2GB memory limit and the graphics take up a lot of that. As much as I love ManSh00ter's explosions and Bailknight's effects, I'm considering removing them and using Major Stress's Sins Optimized instead to save memory.

1. you still want it as cruiser ??

2. circle 1 on image, you want to make it with red or blue on texture it will be like an eye or move there the turret from tubes??

3. circle 2 on image, make with texture a rocket launcher??

some of the ships (cylons specifically) don't appear to be fully textured.  Is this going to be fixed in future editions?

just wondering, first time I tried to mod this game and I even bought entrenchment just so I could use it, but when I go to the download site for some reason on my computer and my dad's it stops at 31.7 mb...any advice/alternate download location?

edit: Nvm finally got it to work lol

I just have one question.....WHY in the one true god's name did you only use MEGAUPLOAD?!!?!?!

 

I mean, its great as an alternative mirror or one of many mirrors but the only one? I would highly suggest a torrent or have uploaded in multiple places like zshare or rapidshare(i know it sucks, but its better than nothing) 

I'm sorry for the rant or the being unappreciative but my first download failed and now I'm having to drool for another few hours before I can try again. 

Thanks for all your hard work, can't wait to try it.

i had problems using megaupload too....it wouldnt download at times or it stopped halfway through. Sometimes the page wouldnt even load. So I had to use a friends computer to dl it... :(other than that great job so far :D

I just have one question.....WHY in the one true god's name did you only use MEGAUPLOAD?!!?!?!

Because of all the alteritives, it sucks the least. Filefront doesn't let me upload things. I don't know why, but they always, always fail. And pretty much every half-way decent (free) alternative has a size limit on it that is too small.

Are you running WIN7? I have a **** ton of problems running Sins as well as a few other games on that OS, compared to when I play on my XP machine. My WIN7 machine is also a "really good computer" so I can share your feelings :(

Koobalt I really like the look of that cruiser.

 

I think part of the reason I like BSG so much is that the ships are so practically cool looking (compared to say the USS enterprise or something).
