This is the official thread for the Sins of the 13th Tribe mod.

Please note that it only works for Entrenchment v1.05

This is a total conversion mod, so the TEC, Advent, and Vasari are no longer playable

The Colonials and Cylons are now playable races

Known Bugs:

  • Some ships do not have names or are improperly named
  • Colonials still glow occasionally

v0.96 Changes

  • Entrenchment v1.05 compatability
  • Fixed String not found errors for the Galactica's colonize ability and the Worldstar's extra squadrons ability
  • Temporarily removed the custom static defense structures, so there will not be any more bug reports about the meshes reverting to the unmodded forms
  • The Cloud 9 is now correctly called the Cloud 9
  • New weapon sound effects for the Galactica+Mercury

Please, if you play this, report back here any balancing problems, particullarly in terms of research.

If by like the show you mean silver and not green (or orange or red, etc) Yes, it is possible, and yes, we are working on it. Like SpardaSon said about the reflective Colonial ships, it is a problem with the textures, and we are working on it.

Ships will likely get bigger, but after the hardpoints get redone (so I have no idea when that will be)

@ tieria: look at the post right above yours, it tells you how to fix that problem.

I was actually thinking about that a while ago. The Cylon starbase will probably be either the colony or the reserection hub. Personally, I'm leaning towards the hub. The colony seems way too big. It could maybe work as a planet, but then the Galactica can't ram it...

 

Making it a planet would also mean that there's a good chance that there will be more than one Colony... Although now that you've mentioned the Hub, that would actually be better suited for an SB replacement. You could even add frigate/cruiser/capship factory abilities to it.

I downloaded and extracted the mod to the Entrenchment1.02mod folder under the AppData path.  I know I installed it correctly since it shows up in the mod list.  However, whenever I have it enabled I get CheckSum 0 and I can't select Colonials or Cylons as a race.  Should I try reinstalling the mod?

double left click on the (13th tribe) folder inside there should be another file that says 13th tribe and a read me file. copy and paste that 13th tribe folder to your entr. mod folder

for the next release can you change the missles up so they look a lil diff by col and cylons at the moment it seem like a huge fury and a pain to watch imo but other than that great work

maybe an increase of cap ship range (for missles) would help, and the cylon ablilities (and tech tree :) ) need to be redone

 

but the game can be pretty fun so far, good job

One thing I noticed.  The Cylon raiders, (cylon fighters) do not seem to go after enemy fighters or bombers at all.  I can select them, but when I right click the enemy fighters or bombers, they will not attack them.  They just continue to attack the ship.

 

Also, I think the colonial flak is too strong.

1 thing i'd love to be put in would be flak burst in the starbases.. maybe either a base skill or have it replace one of the upgrades.  I love  being attacked in a  system with a SB but if my cap ships leave it then the SB soon dies from fighter/bomber attacks.

Sorry I haven'r replied in a while, been busy.

Cylon raiders have that problem because their second weapon, the missiles, are normal, anti-ship missiles instead of anti-strikecraft. It seems that they prioritize the anti-ship ones over the anti-strikecraft. This should be fixed in the next version.

I'm working on changing the missiles so that the Cylons+Colonials aren't using the same ones, and so that they are more BSG-like, but I have very little experience with Particle Forge, so the going is slow. I have no idea when they will make it in game.

The next version (0.5) will probably be the last one for a while. I'm going to be busy, and I want to get a lot more done before the next release.

Version 0.5 is now out, check the OP for the DL and changes. It is now being hosted from a new site, Kitsune420's Game Fanatics Vault (thanks, btw). I don't expect there to be any, but if any one has problems DLing from the new site I will put a mirror up on Filefront.

 Yeah, harpo is right, the file isn't there. Not completely sure why, but I'm working on fixing it. It should be up in the next couple of hours. If I can't get it to work there, I'm going to put it on Filefront until I can figure it out.

I put the link to v0.4 back up until I can get 0.5 working. Unfortunetly, it doesn't look like it will be up today. I've been trying various sites, but none of them seem to be cooperating at the moment, so it will probably be tomorrow before 0.5 is released.

He had problems understanding FTP, not everyone knows this form of protocol for uploading, mostly website owners. Game Fanatics is under heavy construction, files larger then 250mb will take so long you could make you lunch watch a movie and come back see it done! Many users are uploading files without a hitch using the system and FTP. ;)

 

Hi kyogre12, I put your Mod online for you no problems! :) I will personally teach you sometime if you have MSN, skype, team speak, cell phone lol. I am adding the image like you requested now!

Danman & his team are of course welcome to host their files on our server. May save him some bandwidth cash. :grin:

Sorry, but till our coder finishing the new design and layout, we must FTP files larger then 250mb. The upload system is crap, why we are not including it in our new design.
