What constitutes an internet addict?
I log on one or two hours a day (I'll approximate it to maybe 14 hours a week.)...I use the net to find Educational Resources, shop, bid, play games, email, blog, find cllipart, read news, do the chatroom thing one or two times a week...(a chatroom i've gone to for years).. and just regular ol' surfing...
Is this sufficient enough for someone to declare me a net addict?...I will fully admit when i first started getting online four years ago, I would spend wayy too much time online. Within the past year or two, work, family, and other responsibilites and hobbies have had me reduce my time on the net. I actually believe I spend less time on!....But other ppl differ....wondering why the heck I'm always doing this or that...If you were to ask me If I think I'm an addict, I'd say NO.....yet, I realize that sometimes I can lose track of my time when I am online. It makes me think of what I can be doing offline instead....like going to a bookstore or catching up on cleaning and such....maybe i do need to cut down on my time....
then again....many aspects of my time online...like looking for new and interesting ways of teaching, or writing a love letter, or finding that special gift for someone, or meeting new ppl ...or doing private blogs of my deepest thoughts and feelings...those are things that hold a lot of meaning for me...and it won't be something I will just drop just because someone insists I spend too much time online....
I think I might just need to manage my time better..maybe that's it....:)
