well you can read, what we wrote.

Basically, Zock and me have the opinion, that GPGnet is working better than Impulse/Demigod-System. This was all we had said in this chat.

Then Frogboy, who I would have thought to be a qualified employee of Stardock, just insulted us, and few seconds later, we both were banned from chat and still are.

 

Is this how you cannot even say your opinion in a chat? this is really.. rather ridiculous to me. I really am thinking about, if I still want to buy and support this game, after my demo key runs out.

 

 

Arguments of GPGnet being better in current state than impulse are plenty. I can list them, if you want.

 

Still.. i think banning us for saying something criticising... is a way too much.

you people amaze me. really. It doesn't matter who's product is better. It doesn't matter how much money you make. As a CEO, you don't call your customers idiots. Thats just bad business ethics. It doesn't matter how much time you put into your product....how great it is. Insulting your customers is a very good way to get things rolling the wrong way.

 

So frogboy is a high guy in the company, woo hoo. We as customers buy his products and pay his bills, we don't need to be insulted by him. Piracy has been running rampant lately. This is a sure fire way to keep that up.

I totally back up those guys who got called idiots. Go ahead and flame me. Be a lemming like the rest of them. take away my CD keys, ban me, kick me, whatever. YOU DON'T INSULT YOUR CUSTOMERS....plain and simple.

Why was this thread started? If it was to bash frogboy then that in itself seem to be very foolish. If it was to learn "how  could I have responded better?" then this thread has some purpose.   Learn the power of words and how to use them wisely.

I love how quick people are to jump to conclusions. I could clip a part a of a conversation that makes it look bad for one party and post it, when in actuality, something else could have happened. Nobody but a handful of people know the whole story.

...and nothing of value was lost. If something this small caused you to "not buy it" you probably weren't going to buy it in the first place.

As someone who's worked in retail the customer is always wrong. Morons like the OP need to realize that you don't have the big picture, you don't know why they used a new internet system and personally wouldn't want to explain it to him with what he said.

SD makes great games and software, GPG makes great games, Valve makes great games and software, and Blizzard makes great games. Suggesting otherwise is retarded-elitism. Essentially saying, "I don't like the same massively popular, critically acclaimed crap as everyone else, therefore I'm better than everyone else." Retarded.

It was wrong of VoW-Kyro to suggest that SD wants their products to fail, but he's probably having a rough time with entertainment, so I forgive him.

It was wrong of Frogboy to call him an idiot for doing so, but he's probably having a rough time with work, so I forgive him.

It is wrong of all of you who completely took Frogboy's side simply out of fan loyalty. That can make people think it actually is okay to treat customer's like poo, so long as a provider has a lot of dedicated fans who will laugh and say "Awesome job treating your customer like poo."

Ah, the good old entitlement generation speaks again.

You do not have the right to be an ass in someone's house. If you piss them off and they send you packing, you got what you deserved. Yeah, in general, a CEO shouldn't call his customers idiots. If they're being idiots, though, and right to his face, using his chat service in his game, he can do whatever the hell he pleases in that context.

I'm surprised this thread has made it this far without an analogy. Normally, you wouldn't expect a priest to violently eject someone from a church. However, if someone comes in and starts peeing on the parishioners, well, I'd say the father would be well within his rights to do whatever it took to get that person off church grounds.

haha i work at arrival service at an airport , you dont know how many times ive told passengers off , often in a educating fashion as well , customers are always wrong more or less , they dont know anything yet they act like they know everything , i sure dont want no dude standing infront of my counter talking crap and making the other customers upset , i rather just straighten him out let him QQ (cause noone cares about the whiners but the whiners anyways) when he get home . theres a time for being nice to people , and a time to let those feelings out , and well he wasnt actually insulting him he was just stating a fact.

Not at all. But it is okay to treat a customer the way the customer treats them. It is a very stupid social phenomenon that the "customer is always right" which means the customer can berate an official without any reprocussions.

Frogboy, and all of Stardock, treat people with the same respect people show them. Frogboy himself has seen many arguments and debates on the forums and IRC and participated in plenty. He doesn't make a habbit of calling people idiots for nothing, but if you're an ass you should expect him to call you out on being an ass.

It's got nothing to do with treating a customer like poo because SD has dedicated fans. It's basic common sense.

till i read that i was nearly satisfied with the support telling us whats going on and making little funny videos but that chat makes me think otherwise: maybe it s all for show ... coz no matter what the netcode suxx and it wont be fixed  or written new in a couple of days( which would be good and maybe the best to do)  so go and make a good show of it for the paying customers and buy us some time. i mean come on face it the last patch did more worse to me then better skirmish mode now is not usable.

This game remembers me my last fatal buy which was a desaster a game called soeldner from jowood if i remember right. at the release day you could even get in the game lobby and after 3 weeks and 2 patches u could play but only in 3 fps and that was a shooter like game dunno if i remember it right but i think it took them 3-4 month after release day to programm a new netcode and get the game running but by then the most user were gone anyway and no one i know ever came back or bought another game from them....

so handle your customers with respect they pay ur rent ... and smile even if u think he is an idiot but dont tell....big brother is always watching...

entry level position ... did you read my post , arrival service at an airport , there is 2 higher positions im the branch im working in .

1 : is the manager over my section

2 : is manager over traffic over all sections .

dont talk about things you dont know , mcdonalds generation heh , as many has said customers aint always right and theyre not allowed to threat me like shit just because they misunderstood something or because they have an idea of how it would run "smoother" like in this case . they never listen , use foul words .

If you wanna take that and smile then you do that , i solve situations and dont let people threat me like shit.

i still have the best passenger service and work the hardest to help people at my company .

I have a concern with Frogboy that may be totally unfounded, but it's a concern nonetheless.

In one of the videos he posted recently he repeatedly states that he's convinced the proxy servers are the solution to the connection issues; that he has a good feeling about that. He also mentions a few times that all the technical stuff is over his head. This reminds me way too much of a software gig I had. The product was essentially broken and needed to have major parts rewritten, but management, who had no real idea how anything worked, kept insisting on bandaid solutions. They would go around saying things like 'I really believe quickfix X,Y,Z is gonna fix problem 1,2,3'.

Let's just hope that technical decisions aren't being made by people who don't understand what's going on here.

Considering abysmal sales, every unit counts. A business cares about all customers, which is why they are always right. You possibly work packing groceries and always say your customer is wrong, but no one cares because you are a bag boy. I have never heard of a ceo stupid enough to insult someone in a form of media which can be so easily recorded. 

I wanted to support Stardock because I thought they cared about the players. I was still prepared to buy the game even with reports of bad system performance, horrible multiplayer connectivity, imbalanced gameplay, deficient single player etc etc because customer service means a lot. But it seems Stardock fails in that department, so I am glad this was revealed before I wasted my money.
