Im not a pirate...I paid for game

just figured I would chime in...

I did what a responsible person should do. I was interested in the game.

I went and read about it. I asked a few questions on foums about it. I went and watched movies on gaming websites like Gamespot about it. Watched the Dev Diary movies and Demigod 101 movie from the developer. Took all this information and made an informed decision based on my experience with Stardock on Sins and GalCiv in the past and bought the game.

I guess I could have skipped all that and just downloaded a pirate copy of the game......no thanks.

p.s. just trying to offset the guys who think its funny to post they pirated the game (even if they did then buy it later).

Yes, what a brilliant idea! Why didn't I think of that first?

Oh wait. What problem did you solve by getting a pirate copy?

hmm maybe I wasnt clear...I did not pirate the game..I researched it and bought it. lol

I was just being a bit facetious to a degree.

I did the same.  I read all of the forums, watched the videos, and didn't have any experience with the company prior to Demigod.

However, I still wasn't 100% convinced though.  As a dota player, I only wanted to play this game if it really had the same addicting gameplay that DotA did, and there's no way to tell that for certain by a few videos and forum posts.

So, when demigod leaked early I pirated a copy.  I played that copy for one night and was totally sold.  The next day (the official release day) I went out and bought a retail version.

I'm glad that you didn't have to resort to piracy in order to make an informed decision about this product.  Had they released a demo version prior to the official release then I wouldn't have had to either.  They didn't, but luckily I'm an honest guy (I pay for stuff I use) and bought the real version once I was sold on the game.

You read the gamespot review and still bought the game?   Anyway, thanks for doing the right thing.  +1 karma for you.

The p.s. gives it all away :P

Lol, and you want a prize now? What's the point of this stupid threads anyway?

You like it, buy it. You don't like it, don't buy it. Simple. All other things are irrelevant.

Whats the point of the other 5 threads of people saying they pirated it? With you replying on it that you did as well?

None. Same as this. If i was a mod, i would delete all these threads. They don't bring anything constructive to the forum. Just clutter.

And you? Why are you posting?

1) You did not do the same as the OP. You pirated the game.

2) You HAD to resort to piracy because they didn't release a demo prior to the official release? What ever happened to PATIENCE?

3) You are NOT an 'honest guy' and you don't 'pay for' the stuff you use. You pirated the game.

4) You, and the 90,000 other pirates caused havoc for Stardock, GPG, and the legit retail buyers on the day of release because of your pirated copies hammering the network.

5) I'm glad you wised up and bought the retail version. However, your intent to purchase after you try out your pirated copy is NEVER justifiable.

I bought the game and I only managed to join 1 multiplayer game in 2 days... I tried hundreds of time. I'm pissed. Once again, I can't play a game I bought ;(
