Ship creator?

Hello

What is the difference between galaxy forge and map designer? I've been thinking about downloading galaxy forge but am unsure as to whether it is any different than map designer which already comes with the game.

Also, if any of the architects of Sins are reading I would like to know if you are working on new ships or something similar to map designer but for creating ships, and if you are considering adding some new alien races to the game?

Thanks

Galaxy Forge allows you to manually place planets/neutrals and set up templates, starting positions, etc.

The ingame designer basically gives you a random map based on various parameters that you set (number of phase lanes, lane length, militia defenses, planet groups, etc).

I've read that a ship editor is not going to happen. It'd be great but I can understand why not. Still it would be an interesting feature to be able to have basic units types like frigate, crusier, and capital ship and be able to adjust attributes on your own. For example you would be given 10 point and be able to add points to catagories like speed, armor, shields, weapons, special ability. You might get 5 open slots in each catagory so you might be able to max out 1 or 2 attributes but never all of them.

I think the reason there isn't a ships creator because there are more parts and much more complex than a ship creator and map designer is just a random map generator so it is easy to program
