Preorder payment!

Hi!

I preordered this game two weeks ago.

However, in the add it says they wont charge for the game until it gets released, but that seems to be incorrect. Well, in a way. They have gone into my account and locked the money, which is a way of charging for the game. I have no access to these money, they just sit there locked down. If that is not charging for the game, i don't know what is. You should at least mention in the add that the money will be locked down, but not transfered until release. Now i have some money that i really need being held from me. I would not have preordered the game if i had known that.

Personally I think this is just temporary. I have prepaid this game as well since the first day and I have nothing locked on my card at all.

 

Maybe you should call Stardock customer service I am sure they could clarify this for you.

they will hold it from you, but it shouldn't actually be deducted from your account.  It has something with the way credit cards are done.  When the inquiry to see if the card can be charged, the bank automatically puts the money on reserve expecting for charges to come through (food placed do that all the time, the actual charge usually being higher to include tip)  It shouldn't be held from you more than a week or so, and likely you can talk to a bank person to get it un-held.

I have a different question about the preorder (sry for abusing this thread)^^ Is it possible to download a different language version after the release via Impulse eg the german version (if there is one)?

What impulse does with pre-orders is that they post a test transaction to your credit card. It will appear in your pending transactions, and take away from your limit, but will not actually post to your account.

However, this pending transaction will clear after a while, depending on the speed your bank works at.

If you're using a debit card, I'm not sure how that's handled because I always pre-order with a CC.

Well, it's almost 2 weeks now, and the money is still locked. Guess i have to talk to my bank and se why they dont release the money again. I know that they usually release the money soon after the check, but this time they have not, hence this post. But guess it is my bank that is at fault this time, and not Stardock.
