How to see who's fighting who?

How can I see who's fighting who, among the AIs? Aside from witnessing them fighting in a gravwell.

Civ4 has a nice third-party relations screen. Does Sins have it somewhere? I haven't found it.

Thanks if you can help! - RK

no, i dont think so, even if you have teams unlocked, AI's wont ally or not with each other.

i have noticed this and i dont like it, AI's should be able to ally... though i dont know how Ironclad would code it, but if they could it would be nice... i mean, it'd be great to forge a 3 way alliance half way through the game and take on all comers... but you cant do that if your 2 allies are at each others throats, telling you to betray the other

basically, even if you have unlocked teams, you can safely assume that AI alignment will stay as it was when you started the game... that is, if you set AI 1 and AI 2 on the same team, they will always be on the same team, no matter what, and if you set AI 3 and AI 4 on opposing teams, they will always be on opposing teams

Apparently this is something that's going to be addressed in the upcoming diplomacy expansion.  I think they're also going to work on the mission system too - I mean it'd be nice to be able to make demands of weaker AI's.  Have them giving me credits and crystal and suchlike :)

 well put The_Resonator_1

I tend to almost exclusivley play with no diplomacy at all, Me against the rest is the best way, I dont really like the way the AI deal with diplomacy and ignore it almost completely, Its also very frustrating as I found out the first time it happened. Once yuo have taken on the galaxy with your AI team Mate, and all your opponents are dead, They turn on you instantly> This means that all your tactical planning from the word go has also got to take the end game into play, I had helped the AI out so much and treated it like a forged alliance that my planets were fractured up far too much and my Fleets were split between the last two enemy planets I had just killed several jumps away from where I had asked my Ai Team to guard a few of my home planets, then BANG we are not friends, kill kill kill and I am F******g rushing my bum off to get my troops over, Suffive to say I lost that one lol

Playing friends with diplomacy though is super fun, as there is no second guessing and things can change very quickly, Super fun

There is a big difference in a game against 7 AIs if teams are locked vs. if they are unlocked, if they are all put on separate teams. They are decidely punier and easier to kill if teams are locked. I am not sure exactly what is going on ... maybe they've only signed trade agreements and gotten more money when they can team, or maybe they're out there making allies and taking each other down (which, of course, happens sometimes), but a game on a large map versus AIs that are not locked into teams is definitely more of a challenge.

That's why I wish there was a way to see who has what agreements. Also I sometimes wonder whether fleets from two different opponents, both of which are in a system that can jump on of my systems, are fighting each other, or not. It's not always clear.

Oh well. Now I know.

A diplomacy expansion sounds cool. And yes, I'll take your wife with that system, lol.

An easy way to check if to hover your mouse on the side bar of the planet. If all the listed ships are at 100% shields, they're not fighting. :P

I think Blair specifically mentioned making it easier to see alliances as one of the upcoming changes in the expansion.

you can find out who is fighting (or being fough) by putting a little bounty on everyone and see who's drops first. it wont tell you who is fighting who but you can usually deduce as much as you need.

AI do ally together, I have several examples of Ai teaming up against when playing unlocked ffas

but they won't usually ally with any of your other AI allies which is what i guess your saying

I have seen AI allying together as well,  I usaly group a set of starbases together in the star systems.  wile there, i have seen two AI fleets sitting right next to each other, with out attacking each other.  This usaly means that they have at least a cease fire.  (lots of AI trade ships in other AI factions systems too)

I had a lot of fun during beta playing FFA MP games with secret alliances. Couldn't have happened if they were visible. Good old times :P

Ah ok, now I see. And a couple of good tips.

Thanks, Star Emperors!
