I certainly aggree.  Especially with a game like this (as visually pleasing as it is fun and addicting) it's always neat to see how the final designs evolved, and to see how hard the developers worked to make them.

Keep it up!

Nice artwork, I wish there were more floating around. I always love the Vasari pieces ^_^.

IgnusDei, I'm curious, who are you in relation to the artwork? Are you the artist? A IC team member? What? I just want to know, so I know which props to give ;)

And the big turrets on the TEC Starbase being Rail Guns makes way more sense (and looks more appropriate) than them being Beam Cannons - by far! And it's friggin' killer finally knowing what the big ass pod under the Vasari SB's more functional top is!

yep, i'm the guy that drew those.

I also designed the Vasari Minelayer: The reason i haven't put it up is because the art wasn't quite as well executed as everything else. Ironically, it turned out into one of the coolest models in Entrenchment, if not all of Sins.

I agree 100%. the vasari minelayer is one of my new favorite ships as far as looks go, second only to the good old antorak marauder.

In that case, IgnusDei, killer job!

I'm glad they let you post things around... because it seems that far too often the artists who come up with the ideas that get modeled into the game don't get enough credit for their work, because peeps are too busy congratulating the people who put the models into the game instead of the creative mind(s) that made it possible :(.

I'm curious... did you do the artwork for the people (the avatars you can select when you set up a character for a new game) as well? Also, what is/are your driving influence(s) for the Vasari starship designs?

Anyone else think the Vasari Starbase looks like a Cylon Baseship?

Not really...

Tbh, the big bright light going back and forth around the equator of the Advent Star Base makes me think of the Cylons (their stupid little red eye thing :cylon: ).

Although, I suppose I can see how you would come to the above conclusion, as both the Cylon Baseship and the Vasari Orkulus sort of look like a big Star of David from the top.

Nice!  Thanks for posting that.

I have a question:  is there a name for that style of art?  I have noticed that sci-fi games and books all have a larger than life, industrial look to their associated artwork,  almost as if an engineer was the artist.  Is that a named style in the world of art?

Just curious (as you can probably tell, I am ignorant of all things art-related v_v ).

I did a few portraits, yes. Most of them are in my deviantart gallery already, among others:

Your artwork is awesome, especially the Tau!

Great work, IgnusDei!

I'm curious about that last one. What exactly is this Void Matter Generator? It looks alike the Advent Starfish cruiser. Was that model originally going to be used for something else?

it was going to be the Advent's minelayer orbital module. The devs thought it'd make a better anti-fortification ship.

Void matter mines.  that would be awsome.  when a ship would have other wise been distroyed by the mine, instead of blowing up, it would just dissapear...  would have been really nice for the  Vasari (you know, uber wierd tec for the uber wieard aliens)

I like the marble "monolith" look of the Advent starbase

wow, cool artwork. is it just me or is some of it in the game in the form of loading screens? I think I saw the tec SB concept art sometime.

hm, that last one reminds of something ... just not sure what. maybe stargate universe drone chairs? just looks creepy with the one lonely guy sitting there and watching what looks like a tactical display. hm, maybe also a touch of cylon baseship hybrid.

Were these drawings (when done by Ironclad) done in Photoshop or Illustrator?
