We seem to still have fleeting problems

In a game such as sins where you have fleets and can assign ships to them as said ships build.

 

It would be nice if the ships would actually go to the fleets assigned. 

 

In my games I have seen ships that were built and headed for a fleet outside of the grav well where they were built end up with another fleet because I reassinged the ship dock to another fleet and started building more ships.

 

I have also seen ships that were assigned to join one fleet just join another fleet in the system where they were built along side the fleet they were assigned to.

 

In the first case I had joined the two/three fleets together but the ships didn't join fleet 1 they joined fleet 2.

 

In the second case they didn't join fleet two but joined fleet 1.

 

I mentioned this in another thread but thought I might get more action if I made a feed just for this problem.

I'm on 1.15 and have noticed this alot ... don't recall a lot with 1.12 or 1.05, but with 1.15, it's really getting annoying. I'm constantly having to select-all, leave-fleet, create fleet b/c I find my disciples joining up with my carriers, or illum's joining up with my guardians...really annoying. The only fleet which didn't appear to to get mixed up was the purge vessells.

The other thing I've found is that while two fleets are seperate, when I give a move order to one, another fleet does the same move order. WTF??

Now that you mention it, I have been having slight problems with move orders for all kinds of ships.  Not just with fleets, but with ships following others with a jump  or heading back to a planet.  Now this may still just be finger slips, but it has happened fairly regularily since i got 1.15 and 1.0 entrenchment.  May be something to look into

Yeah, big problem.  A issue I have had with tec (im running 1.15 and ent 1.01), sometimes my fleets flag ship dosnt jump with the rest of the fleet (yes they are all set for a linked jump) for some reason (probaly redocking fighters or turned the wrong way) and it takes a few secs longer for it to jump.  what happens is that the rest, or part of the rest of the fleet will try to jump back to the grav well that it was before (tring to "reform fleet") and when this happens in a grav well with a jump distortion node, they get chewed up badly (really badly with enemy star base near by).

What needs to happen to fix this issue is to fix the formation errors (like making all the ships face the same way when not in combat).  What would be nice is to have a formation tool that lets you choose from a set of pre-determend formations, not just tight, standard and loose (like line, cercle or triangle formations) and be able to move then face your fleet, instead of each ship just facing away from its prevoius location.

The major problem I have with fleets is merging them and adding non fleeted units. Can never seem to get that to work. Also, when un-fleeting, reselecting the fleet + new units, then re-fleeting, I often end up with a LRM as flagship, as opposed to my Level 10 Kol. Is this just a 'lolwut' moment, or does the flagship get any bonuses, anyone know?

Only AI problem I've had is occasionally I'll give a move order, then watch as instead of wheeling round and heading in that direction, the fleet will head off out of the gravity well in  the direction it was going. It's as if the turn order gets forgotten. This can be stopped with a 'stop' then a new 'move' but it's still annoying.

No bonuses that i know of.  to fix the flag problem, select all your ships that you want in your fleet then push the tab key until the ship you want as your flag is selected, then use the create fleet option.  It should now be your flag.
