What is your favorite little moment in Sins?

so playing alot a sins are you share some moment that you just had to preaty much stop everything and just watch

mine today I watched a Advent Captial ship do a start to do a back flip after I shot it down. It was right next to a star gah wish I got screen shot but man was it cool it was vertical befor the boom happened. I imgained what could of been going or in that ship what the crew was saying. It looked like it was trying to correct its self from being pulled into the star.

So whats your favorite little moment

watching my TEC monster size fleet of 60+ or so ships jump in to the vasari capitol world system for a final show down, 1st the fighters and bomers emerge to engage the enemy fighter/bomers then when all ships mine and the vasari's come into weapons range all hell breaks loose..i win but loose atleast a quarter of my fleet..a final salute for the fallen commanders and their men..!

When I played a 1v1 MP game on point blank map. I was Vasari and the other guy was TEC. Early on he destroyed my cap. then he attacked me and I destroyed his cap but while his fleet was attacking me I secretly send a colony ship and started building a starbase in his grav well while his fleet was tied up. When he finally realized what I was doing he sent all his ships back to his home but it was too late. My starbase was like 80% finished. I used my assilents to knockout his LRMs and my starbase to kill his factory. then he was pretty much doomed.

My favourite Sins moment was when I was playing on a large multi map and there were basically just two factions left.  I got my whole fleet in one system and sent a massive fleet into a grav well where my enemy's main fleet was positioned.  It decided that this was not a good place to fight and was retreating when my second fleet came in from behind.  The entire game lasted only about 10 more minutes...

My favorite was way back... I played on a huge multi map with all the AI on 'unfair,' with me as Vasari. Teams were unlocked. And so, I was stuck with about 7 empires all attacking me at once. I had a 16 capship fleet, with no frigs (mainly because my income was low from losing alot of planets and the constant huge attacks killed any frigs I did produce). The memorable moment was when 4 huge AI attacks came all in a row. The first one came, and by the time the battle turned in my favor and they began to flee, the second fleet came. Right as it was fleeing, the third AND forth came. I managed to destroy all those fleets with my 16 capship fleet. After this battle I realized I was unable to hold my planets in the large central star system and go on the offensive at the same time. And so, in true Vasari fasion, I packed up my fleet and fled to another, much smaller star system. The system was owned by one of the empires not hostile to me, and so I took the pirate base about a minute before my final planet back in the main star system. I proceeded to take that entire star system after breaking my alliance and then successfully won the game.

Games like those are rare... Where you are the underdog and nearly dead, but end up controlling the galaxy by the end.

So mine isn't quite as much of a 'moment' as it is the entire first half of a game...

Sorry for being so long winded.

My favorite moment is when two HUGE fleets clash, provided one of those fleets just came out of hyper space pretty much in the other fleet.   It is so fun to watch, since the exit from hyper space looks almost straight out of a starwars or startrek film (more starwars, because startrek is less common to see huge fleets all coming at once).    Especially with the new explosions, the battles are great.  If only I didn't have to almost micromanage my capital ships... then I could just sit back and watch.   (i still need to get about to die ships out of there before they do, which requires me to watch their health bars)

I am usually best able to recreate this moment on a pirate base, just because they usually arn't able to kill my capital ship, and usually don't try.  so I CAN just sit back and watch.

My second favorite moment is when I was playing vasari, I build a starbase just outside of the automated defenses of a planet, then right when I've completed it and maybe a weapons upgrade, a fleet appears to defend the planet.

My favorite little moments are when fleets spool up to jump into phase space. I especially liek staggered jumps, because it just seems so beutiful and elegant as the white light opens up, and one by one, the ships slip away into nothingness. It's so peaceful, especially compared to what you know is coming when they emerge.

My favorite moment was just a few hours ago. I was TEC playing against 3hard AI, 2 vasari and 1 advent. I had allied myself with the advent and annihilated one of the vasari quite early in the game. I took over all it's planets and expanded my economy to max out my fleet and capital caps. By this time the 2nd vasari had maxed out it's caps too, but was economicaly strained.

There was only one outcome left, so I engaged the vasari's entire fleet with all my fleets at a colonized pirate choke point. It's capital ship's had more levels than mine, so I was loosing, but in the nick of time my weak advent ally sent the ships it could spare to assist me and the tide turned in our favour and we won, but not after I had lost half of my capital ships and 2/3 of my fleet. Right after the battle the advent wasted no time and terminated our allience, and it went right after my colonies with it's reserve fleets. Luckily I had heavily forfied all my colonies, so the advent wasted all it's expensive precious ships attacking my starbases, while I was finishing off the vasari. Then the time for revenge came, it was sooo sweet:-)

Since he said little moment, I'll go with something simple.

Having 4 Marza Dreadnoughts Raze Planet an asteroid at the same time.  It basically looks like the Asteroid exploded in four different directions.  :D

When I first played Entrenchment.

I sent a very small Advent fleet in to take care of yet another AI controlled, Vasari, un-ugraded, completely un-protected starbase.

My very small fleet of 3 drone hosts and 2 Illums were sent in and told to hold position on the dark side of the planet so the bombers could do their thing. I looked away to take care of something else and came back a minute later only to find the starbase sitting on top of my poor ships and eating them.

I immediately gave the order to turn about and run only to watch as it...DEAR LORD IT IS FOLLOWING ME! KILL IT WITH FIRE! NO! NOT THE HOSTS! RUN! RUN!

*Facepalm*

I will hate Vasari starbases forever.

If you recorded it then you can sit back and watch it!

My first favorite moment was when I first perchased SoaSE. I was TEC, playing on Systems of War against three others, one of whom was my ally. I watched my ally explore then go back when I finally had enough resources for more infrastructure maintainence. This one game, however, a fellow TEC A.I. was able to get the Distant Star Drive researched early and decided to ransake an asteroid colony of mine. I chased him off and when the pirate raids came around, I made sure he was targeted. Well, that made him angry, and so he came down upon me with most of his fleet. After harassing a better portion of my planets, he left, saying don't do it again or he'll destroy me. That was my favorite moment in that part because we actually talked, threatening one another and I believed he would do that if I did it again.

Later in that same game, having unleashed myself from my galaxy, I visited his and conquered it. But he didn't allow me to have his home planet so easily, and a HUGE battle between my fleet of Kodiaks and Light Frigates against his Carriers and Capital Ships was just awesome. I have several screenshots somewhere of it. It was my first big battle, and I knew then that this game was for me. All that slow economy buildup and slow plotting was worth the battles like that one.

Every battle that involves enough ships to form a "cloud" battlefield instead of two lines facing each other. Its fun to watch the guns blast away in all directions instead of only bombarding those ships to the front.

Now if only those turrets rotated and tracked targets, that would make combat even more fun to watch.

I have a lot of favorite moments in sins. But I don't think it's the dork/nerd kind of sins referred to here.

My first multiplayer game. It was me and another noob against 2 hard ai.( Supposed to be a comp-stomp, turned into a human-stomp). Anyway, my ally sent three capital ships into an enemy grav-well, and started bombarding the planet. The ai sent a fleet in, which jumped in between my ally, and the closest safe planet(mine).  He's fighting the entire enemy fleet, and tries to run back to base, getting shot up. I jump my fleet in to help, and draw some of the ai ships off, but they're winning anyway. So we both retreat. We get back to my planet, run for the repair bay, and the enemy fleet jumps behind. Luckily, though, my hangars and gauss cannons, turn the tide, so the enemy ships try to flee, only to be trapped by my phase inhibitor. Revenge was so sweet.

That was our only major win.

Look at my "funny guy" thing in my karma. That has to be the best thing ever.

(just realized you can only see it on impulse)
