Unbearable turtle pace!!!

[Use the +/- buttons to speed up] Unbearable turtle pace!!!

i find the pace of sins to be painfully slow ;l

if im playing sins am also doing any combination of the following to cope with the down time involved: watching a movie, talking on the phone, folding clothes, cooking, playing guitar, studying

when 1.1 beta came out i was so excited that they beefed up the speed to be damn near unmanagable (in others words not mine) my only complaint with the speed was how it eventually slowed back down to the unbearable turtle speeds. we should all demand they add a higher lvl of speed, bring back insane speed and if ppl complain then they can play on current highest which i maintain to be painfully slow.

Compare to starcraft, and aoe, ya it is pretty slow, but hey we are finght space wars, not ground wars, I admit the pace kinda turn people off on the game, what I think it is the research pace, the faster the research, the faster we will be able to kill each other.

Which is odd, since your helmet doesn't look like it's very conducting of outside smells.

meh, i like to pace also, but it could really go faster

Its not. But I only wear it when someone want to throw space rock/lasers/missles/plasma/pulse/wave/autocannon/death ray/tuna cans/beams/etc etc. Sadly thats often.

In Entrenchment there will be a even faster option of the game. STAY TUNED

Er, says who? :P There isn't so far.

It would be a nice change, and not necessarily a hard one to implement if it's just a scalar modifier of some constants to the same effect as income/build speed modifiers we have now.

Ditto here.

I agree with Tyr.  We need an extra fast pace.

Check out the dome!!

A mod that increases game time to around thirty minutes without messing with the gameplay scalars!!

We have even added a Capture the flag mode now too!!

I have the same complaint with racing games, the cars stay on the road way too long and don't fly into space nearly enough.

if im playing sins am also doing any combination of the following to cope with the down time involved: watching a movie, talking on the phone, folding clothes, cooking, playing guitar, studying.

This should help - http://www.addwarehouse.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/article3.htm

If the previous link didn't prrovide solutions here is another resource, although copies are limited - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/156352516X/qid=1119445327/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_ur_1/102-2197969-0981745?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

Personally, I hate fast game speeds, which is all anyone wants to play online.  Fast speeds are for people who want to play the game like an arcade game, not a strategy game.  How on earth are you supposed to think or plan a strategy, much less execute it, when the game is flying 90 to nothing?  Things like taking planets even becomes useless, because with the fast income rates you can't spend the money that's already coming in fast enough as it is.  Fast speeds remove all thinking and strategy from the game, and turn it into an arcade game and a clickfest.  If they add some uber-fast speed setting, that would be fine with me as long as they keep the slower speed settings as well.

Have you tried playing at 8X speed (push the +/- buttons)? At 8x speed, it plays faster than Starcraft.

That's one of the differences between a tactical game (like Starcraft/Dawn of War) and a strategic game... Strategy games are slower... it's just how it has to be. SoaSE is more akin to games like Master of Orion, but real time instead of turn based. Only other game I've seen even remotely similar to SoaSE in application is Super Power.

I have been playing stragity games since civ1 back in the late 80's, and also started with rts in TA in 95.

the people i like to play with have long since learned sins thourogh enough to enjoy all the stratagy aspecs and carry them out like a calculator does math, i honestly could almost perfect accuarate tell you how a game pans out just by scouting positions. all thats left is waiting for your ships to travel and structures to build and money to accumulate and fleets to mass.

i even dont take bathroom breaks before games, i que my opening builds and hit the spot. if i have to dump then i send my scouts out and que some actions for my cap and go fast.

this games so slow to me, i can take a dump almost any point in the game, just automate my fleet and cap, que builds, /a afk 5 or 10

The game is not bad in 1.13 in MP. But I fear Entrenchment will slow the game down with turtle stuff.

You can always radically speed up singleplayer in Sins or Entrenchment with the +/-.

In some ways Entrenchment multiplayer will be faster - it doesn't take anywhere near as long to clear a gravity well because you have anti-structure ships now. It also allows you to make a pincer group to gain critical ground against an opponent because you can defend other flanks. Also, we have added a couple new things that will speed up multiplayer a bit (you haven't seen these yet).

Great, looking forward to it. Thusfar the biggest slowdown in MP is planetary bombing, because siege frigates are jsut to vulnerabile and expensive to use effectively, you are stuck with your cap ship boming a planet, while your fleet skips ahead to kills tructures ont eh enxt planet.

I wonder how long can I make a game last....Could I make it true real time?!?!
