So if you're a BSG fan you should know that the prequel, Caprica, has been in development for a while. If you didn't know that, then you're not a true BSG fan and should be ashamed of yourself :P

Anyway, news came out today that before the 2010 TV broadcast of Caprica, an unrated and uncut DVD release will be out on April 21, 2009:

I love all the comments over the show turning into a soap opera.  BSG started out more of a soap opera than the actual soaps were.  They had one hell of an emotionally fubar'd cast from day one.

 

Just because none of you have mothers that watched ABC's big three religiously during the eighties, doesn't make the show anything but a soap. :)

BSG is the only television I watch. The rest is a wasteland, except perhaps Discovery and History Channels. I'd likely cancel cable but for BSG.

In my opinion BSG is as ground-breaking SF as Babylon 5 was in the 90s. Perfect? No. Lots of new takes, and insights into humanity? Yup.

There are a lot of loose ends, though. I wonder how they're going to clean them all up.
