People on planets cant run away

Does anyone know what happens to the population of a planet when you abandon it

You get the deconstruction counter and then you lose contact with the planet

Did the people commit mass suicide or do they just launch themselves into the nearest sun

Should you not at the very least get a coloniser and a few frigates in compensation for trying to save your own ass from being ownd

*Sir, we have multiple incoming warships. ETA 4 Days. Our fleet is to far away to assist, we are on our own.

We cannot keep this outpost, the order to evacuate has been given.*

*Ok men you heard the general, sidearms at the ready. Aim at the person standing next to you and fire. Oh and if you are the last person standing, remember to launch the chemical gas bombs so that nobody on this planet will suffer from the bombardment of the enemy*

That would be cool! Pretty much the best gameplay improvement I've read so far.

Your provisional government packs up and leaves. Whatever happens to the population afterwards is not your concern!

It may be interesting to note that all of the planets in the game "universe" are already colonized by humans, and likely will be well after you leave.

where do you think the pirates come from?  and the TEC rebels?

So then what is the difference between uncolonised planets and faction controlled planets other than the fact that you have to bomb the one to control it

Even the volcanic planets and asteroids. These humans really breed like space ponies ;P

Havent they ever heard of birth control. Anyway I was just wondering. TNX 4 enlightening me.

*EDIT* wait just one minute. So that means that your coloniser unit is actually full of marines(or equivelant) that storm and take control of planets colonised by humans. :D Does that mean I just modded the game by thinking of it :dur:

If the planets are colonized and controlled by somewhat stable neutral governments, why don't you have to bomb them up a bit to get your message of freedom and goodwill across?

This is obviously true, since every planet has a local militia you have to defeat, but it doesn't explain why your population always starts at zero when you colonize a planet anew.

You've just established a new government, it takes time to get everyone registered for taxation.

Uncolonized ones are easy targets for annexation (being simple independent colonies just minding their own business)--just take out their piddly fleets--but once a player takes a planet over they're going to fortify the government centers and put up a fight against conquest attempts.

When a mother pirate and a father pirate love each other very much.... Really though, I'm sure there are plenty of asteroids, deep-space space stations, and smaller planetoids that are off the phase network.

Them being pirates and all, I don't think love has much to do with it. :D

Only the United States can get away with that.

In the future, having a fleet of warships show up ans be like "Yo" is enough to let them take over.

I see they decided to model their attitudes based on real life governments then!
