I'd say my fav. part are the capital ships.   They provide the most diversity between the races and let me play a different way each time based on which capital ship or two I start using.   The levels are generally interesting by design, since for me spinning around in the 3D solar system is quite entertaining.  The fact that the games are really long too tends to get me stuck playing, so once I start a level I never want to stop until I've taken the system.

I love creating massive fleets of ships and watching them lay waste to entire galaxies. The capital ships are amazing. I try to have all five in the same fleet. Then I can give them a destination and switch to cinematic mode!

I wish the ships actually have a much better firing arcs, as well as some back turrents, it should not have to turn around to face enemeies at the back.  So annoying.  I like sins for the big battle, but then my machine slows down if it gets too big.

i generally dont like the games with specific checkpoints and set goals. most shooters are like that, but open world games are more fun imho. same here in sins; heres a planet, now go conquer the galaxy. sorry for bad comparison, but its like a lump of wet clay- in most games the clay's dry, but in sins, you can make it into whatev you want

Watching 2 fleets of maximum size slam into one another with lasers, flak cannons, plasma weapons, railguns, and wave cannons firing!:')

So ya, what Tamren said... "The lazer guns that go pew pew pew. "

Commanding huge fleets, setting them on confrontation course with the enemy and waching them slugging it out... I especially like to zoom in on a strike craft and simply watch the scenery... (however, i wish the other ships would move in battle, too. Like slowly passing each other and dealing blow after blow while doing so...)

Multiplayer - apart from the occasional noob stomp, the skilled games with DT guys and other up there players. Apart from some trash talk, these guys are fairly sociable which gives a sense of community (well, to me anyway...)

P.S. How - you suck :P (gonna pay for that)

P.P.S. Tyr - still spreading the love for you, but you ain't getting karma (yet at least...) :D

i loved sins when it came out, but then..if it takes forever to finish one game with 10 AIs setting them to normal difficulty level on a huge map.  I am not the one to play games with few AI opponent on a small map.  but that is not so bad, after a few hours on such setting, the action of the game seems to be AI invading, defend, repel attack, rinse and repeat.  Soo i went back to Galciv 2.  Of course, when X3 Terran Conflict came out, i only play X3 and Galciv 2, and replaying oblivion.

I might consider going back to Sins, if they ever fix that diplomacy system. one accidental shot against your allies will just make them your sworn enemeies again.

i'm pretty sure better diplomacy is in one of the expansions coming out soon

You can't really have an accidental shot against an ally, anyway :P

But to answer the OP:

Ever since I sold my soul to Blair & co, they do Mean Things to it if I don't play. :(

Guns That GO PEW PEW... wait this is starting to sound like Eve!

I like how it scales, and capital ships in that. You can start out with 5 small ships that almost defeat a capital ship, but the empires grow and later on you're at 100 ships and a capital ship, while it cannot defeat 50 ships on its own, is certainly worth as much.

Modding... sitting through an entire game without trying to mod something has become an inpossibility. I just can't resist.

I need therapy(and some artistic talent).  ^_^'

The fact that Sins puts you in the shoes of a Grand Admiral rather than an emperor or a ship-designing engineer.  I love the fact that Sins keeps everything focused on the war effort.

Also, the wonderful replayability.  Every new game of Sins is like a new sci-fi movie...the type they don't make anymore that involve fleet actions for control of a solar system.
