elemental poster or shirt?

have money, will order *palidin*

https://www.elementalgame.com/Downloads/Elemental_Poster_150.jpg

So there is this poster I was eyeing in the media section, when I asked "it says poster.  Does that mean it exists somewhere as a real poster?  If so maybe I can buy it and put it on my wall!?"

and so the question stands, stardock.  Does that poster exist as a real poster somewhere?   And can I buy it (or a copy of it anyway)?

I've seen mention somewhere in the impulse support forums you (frogboy) sending out a Sins of a Solar Empire T-shirt, does that mean there is also a stockpile of T-shirts that might be obtainable?  If so, I'd like to purchase them (and any other posters or T-shirts that might exist, within reason (I'm not made of money so I'd be limited to like maybe 2 more posters and another T-shirt depending on price).

If not, can somebody suggest a good place to print out the high-resolution image into a poster-sized construct.

It looks like it might be kind of expensive to print, but fedex might work...

An Elemental t-shirt... wow, i would love to buy one. Or two.

I'd love an Elemental poster, it would receive a position of honour beside my Munster rugby flag

I wonder what would go on the shirt at this point.   Just the logo?   I was looking at the logo and it is not very high contrast, so the letters would probebly just be solid black on a tan shirt.   Sins has that red and black I don't even know what design that sticks up from the words into the planet in their main logo, that is easy to turn into a shirt.

I guess it would still be pretty neat if you had the black letters and each corner was those different colors, if you could get the yellow to stand out somehow on a tan shirt.

I'd personally love an Elemental shirt. There's just not enough shirts, when it comes to promotionals.

speaking of not-enough shirts.  I want a button up shirt with the logo on the back.   Rather than a regular T-shirt.    I know its kind of a mute point because button up shirts are more expensive and less likely to be produced, and really I want anything SD will give us, but still.   there need to be more button up shirts

Hmm. Sounds like the beginning of a prize design for the beta multiplayer folks--shouldn't be all that expensive to get a few 'mechanic uniform' button-downs with the game logo on the back and the character name on one of those oval patches on the front. If there are only five or ten made, the grandkids might be able to sell 'em for fat cash on eBay one day.

If you're talking long-sleeve, office-type button-downs, computer-driven custom stitching is also not that expensive--could get a small Elemental logo on the other side from the breast pocket. I've never worn a uniform for work, but I like faux-uniform stuff like EFF's black logo baseball caps.

Hey, there's another gear idea: a baseball cap, hopefully with a nice adjustable strap and not the cheap plastic peg&hole things.

Yeah, when I said not-enough-shirts, I meant shirts, not T-shirts. Just like landisaurus.

If I start showing up places in t-shirts, people will think I'm a plebe!

prize eh?   are you suggesting like a tournement or something with which a prize might be awarded?  (or was a prize mentioned somewhere else and I forgot?)

You know, if we did arrange some sort of prize giving content, I'd be a major supporter.  I know I could front enough cash to pay for a few shirts or hats or something.   Heck, I'd even order them at a create-your-own-Shirt place and ship them out to the winners.   (I don't know if I know any places that do anything besides T-shirts though)

OK, if somebody were to have a contest.   A contest that involved you actually doing something in real life (like posting an elemental bannor somewhere and taking a picture of it) and there were going to be prizes of T-shirts.   What kinds of shirts would you want (T-shirt, or button up, or polo, or what)   And would the possibility of getting a shirt motivate you to actually being in the contest?

Re "prize design for the beta multiplayer folks," I was just sloppily thinking about some rewards for folks who played the most and/or best for the multiplayer components. Multiplayer is almost always about competition, so I figured leaders in that part of the beta effort might enjoy prizes.

I still don't know if I want to mess with anything multiplayer at all, and could easily go for a year post-RTM before I start messing with it or know that I never will. As far as direct playtesting in the beta, I'm much more interested in the stand-alone game and looking at how the content-sharing system might work with it.

But I suppose the real reason I even thought to reply earlier was that I like the idea of encouraging some 'diversity' in branding chotchkes, especially if you can work some really reasonable 'collectibles' into the mix. I don't watch Antiques Roadshow as a habit, but it has often caught me with something akin to car-wreck fascination when I hear stories about how much money can change hands over things like an autographed baseball from a historic game or a 1938 wind-up Mickey Mouse still in its original box.

OK, lets forget the beta for a moment.  How about a completely different contest that is BEFORE the beta?

A magical one.

(I picked on graphics-as-comm today in another thread; sometimes a picture really is better.)

Well, they say if you want something done right away, you should do it yourself.

so I did.  Here are my button up T-shirt designs.   What do you think?   (much higher resolution for the real shirt)  Front back respectivly

Or how about a polo.  With the logo only on the front or back.   Like this.

Would you want the logo on the front or on the back?  If you could decide?

anybody's feedback is best.  I'm trying to get a general idea of what other people want to see ^_^

Well, I'd prefer a button-down to a polo, and if the button-down is office-style and not like a mechanic's work shirt, I'd want long sleeves, and possibly a collar.

For the small art on the front of a button-down, I'd leave out the Stardock logo--it doesn't fit the color scheme and says "space" more than "fantasy." I'd also lose the :WoM bit. IMO, that's ugly in typing and when you try to say it as an acronym.

I also think that a work-shirt button-down leaves a few good places to add some custom patches that could convert part of a mass order of shirts into a unique prize item, or maybe just a special version available only to the active beta players regardless of whether they win games and influence people.

And while I'm having this most unusual fit of interest in anything related to clothes, I'd also say that the logo(s) should be stitch-work and not silkscreen. IIRC, Land's End used to have a fairly reasonable rate for getting company logos stiched onto various garments. I can't imagine that computer-driven production like that has gotten more expensive, but I stopped looking at Land's End when JCPenney bought them.

yes landi, you've got the idea. i'm a tad drunk but i just thought your simple idea for a shirt would be cool. In fact i'd put my name down if i could order one. I should say that GW's point about the SD logo stands though.

Thats a very good point about the Stardock logo.  Would just replacing it with text work, you think?

It is done!   I have created a shirt! I live in a desert, so the short sleeves and thin fabric was a must.   It is a polo with a caller, again something I wanted so I could wear it to my current job.  The shirt says Elemental: War of Magic in the same font as is used for the official logo, but with less texture so it’s a little more uniform in colors.  The lower right no longer has the stardock logo, it just has the label “by stardock” and “www.elementalgame.com”  in the lower right corner.  The print is digital print, something apparently new, so I have more color options than the classic shirt print methods.   In hindsight I should have taken advantage and added a dragon head to it or something
The shirt is a polo with 60% cotton, 40% polyester blend.   Washing machine safe and all that jazz.  It might shrink a little in the wash, but not as much as a pure cotton shirt would.   The knit is rather light, but not so much that you’d be able to see undergarments or anything like that through it.

In hindsight, I should have added something more than just the logo, like the dragon head from the main poster, but oh well.  I wanted to be prepared for having to be limited to 6 or less colors.

This shirt (well not THAT shirt, that one is mine) is being used as the prize for the contest I'm throwing.  Top five winners get the sister shirts to the one worn in this picture.   I could only afford to make a few, so if you want one.  Take part in the contest.

The exception being Spartan.   Spartan, you offered me Left 4 Dead because of my activity on this forum.   That is something that costs real money.   So, as a result, I ordered 1 extra shirt for you!   I hope you enjoy it.

Cool job. I can get prints done at a reasonable price here in Tokyo. Shipping will be a bit expensive however. We should consider Jinx as our printer. Please get back to me on this point Land.

Also for the front of the polo shirts I have the perfect idea. Let me see if I can find something....

Update: Here you go:

I also think the SD logo and text should go on the sleeve.

Spartan, where'd you pick that one up? It looks like the original, but it doesn't look stripped!

I'm resourceful if nothing else. O:)

@Land - k1 given for the cool shirt.  Also for the front pocket area logo, a few select avatar images such as the element ones and races would be good.

The reason I'm asking is that I'd love a full alphabet, or just ELEMENTAL.
