Pre-Order and Pay Now option?

Is there any way to add a pay-now option to the pre-order?

I'd rather pay now and support development of this game, have been waiting for a sequel to MoM for many long years and tend to buy most Stardock games lately anyway, so I'm 99.999% sure this is going to be jaw-droppingly, spine-breakingly awesome.

Nope.

While your sentiment surely is appreciated, you don't have to worry about the money aspect. StarDock makes enough money with its non gaming branch to finance the developement cost in advance (and I guess some money from Sins of a Solar Empire is still around B) ).

But preordering is still good for the game (you gain access to the beta) and StarDock can plan better for post release when they get a good number of preorders and can thus better estimate how many people will buy the game.

Was aware of all of those factors, but thanks :)

Well if you want to give SD money do what I do and get a sub for its media service. Also never use any discount codes (I think I have passed on over 20 of them in recent years) and buy some premium packs (I wish SD would make more of for game titles and movies - I would pay big money for a well developed Romulan skin and sound pack). Moreover I still dont really know how the sub system works but it is all good.

I'm sure they would enjoy doing those . . but licensing is a pain in the ass I'd imagine.

Maybe Stardock-only tokens in Impulse? More than half the reason I bought my TGN tokens was my interest in the-project-formerly-known-as-NotMoM, and by the time the Elemental pre-order was an option, tokens were on the way out. I appreciate Stardock's desire to earn more by helping others publish and distribute, but I'd still like an option to 'invest' more directly in future Stardock titles.

Tokens are always good for Stardock games.

If you're responding to my reply 5, that wasn't my point. I thought tokens were being phased out, as in no longer for sale even though we can still spend unused ones. Do you mean we can buy more any time we want to?

Tokens are only available singly via sales if you have some but not enough to buy the thing you want to finish them off.

Hasn't this discussion already taken place many times before?  It's like deja vu all over again!

Tokens are dead, but can be used up with help from SD (mostly on old games and SD ones).

I'd very much prefer a "pay now" option aswell, but as of now, there isn't one.
I just don't like being in-effect indebted to anyone or any thing.

Yes, but finding things on the forums isn't always easy, especially for newer folks (or folks returning after a long hiatus). Plus with the forums being informal, it's fairly easy to see things like Zubaz confusing me when I thought I already knew what was going on.

Thanks for confirming my understanding, Kryo.
