I just installed stardock central...

hi friends,

how do i start getting the frequent updates?

second. completely noob. i played a three hour, gigantic map game and was in close second place by the time i quit. thing was, i wasn't doing anything except build colony ships, colonize and set on Republic (my governor)for new planets.

i must be doing something right....but i'm not really doing anything. all defaults (taxes, etc) were untouched. no military.

i'm sure i was about an hour away from somebody deciding to kick my rear. but what should i have been doing while i was nabbing up planets?

the manual is a challenge. where can i find the best docs?

thanks in advance

Choose software tab, and then GalCiv. Click install. Note: install StarDock, then uninstall and install GalCiv again, or (AFAIK) you'll start to download all 86 Mb instead of 1-2Mb patch.

Play first game at the Medium or Large galaxy. Link to a tech tree http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/

For the start - Spending 100%, Military 100%, lower taxes to get morale 100.

I'm interested too.

OK....

Under the menu:

Select Tools:register products. Galciv is under the drengin.net tab, select it from yhe drop down box in there. Enter in the requested information and serial numbers. Click update (or register, mine say's update cause I've already registered). That should be you registered!

Select tools:settings. Click on show application revisions.

Then go to the software tab and click drengin.net. You should hopefully see galciv there saying it's got whatever version you've got installed on it. If not, get back to us.... as this can be a problem for some people.......
