Earth (Fixed)

Mmm... Origins... Oranges... Pears

This is a picture of my capital, Earth, playing as the TEC. It's got about 6 or 7 trade ports, a refinery, 17 repair stations and 1 point defense. It may appear massively underdefended, but the asteroid named Rochar (the junction on the only Phase Jump connecting Earth and the rest of the galaxy) is a floating fortress (who needs the huge space station from Entrenchment?). There are other worlds dedicated to protecting Earth, but I won't go into those.

This is a screenshot of Rochar (you can see Earth in the bottom-right hand corner):

FYI, you need to upload the images to an online host such as imageshack.us for anyone else to see them. The forum can't pull images off your computer.

Wow, thats really cool! Nice screenshot

What did you put on " Rochar " to make it into a fortress ?

Rochar acts as a barricade - it halts and cripples invading fleets before they reach Earth. I didn't want to put any defensive structures around Earth's gravity well because "Earth represents the policy of the USS - avoid violence unless absolutely neccessary".

so are you saying thar there are no structures on Ronchar ? or that you have but structures on Ronchar ?

I don't know the details of my entire empire off by heart, but know that I've flooded the gravity well of Rochar with defensive structures. As for logistics, I'm not sure, but Rochar may at least have a refinery.

Hey, i just thought of this, Rochar is a lot like Anubis from WitchFire's saints of a solar empire. They're both really powerful asteroid bases that serve as chokepoints.

but my question is : what makes Ronchar a base , was capabilities does it have ? and if so how did you but defensive armamment on it ?

(it's Rochar, not Ronchar) If you're talking about costs, there's no problem at all - I have an incalculably large fortune of credits, metal and crystal in the kitty. I didn't put any factories there though, to save space for the veritably ancient research labs. Nowadays, it's mainly used as a chokepoint rather than a full-blown military base.

Deimos is a military base:

Yep. There are other chokepoints in the same star system. In fact, I have an entire belt of planets dedicated to the defense of Earth, although they're further out from Rochar. I like to call them the 'First Line'.

To make it clearer where these planets are, here's is a screenshot of the entire Pollux system. Earth is the northernmost terran planet, while Rochar is the asteroid just below it. I left certain pirate bases alone (as an improvised defensive measure) because my main fleets are held up on the dangerous battlefronts in the star systems to the north, meaning they're incapable of defending this system. Oh, and Deimos is the southwesternmost desert planet.

I guess my question is , how do you turn an asteroid into a military base  ?

I see where you're coming from. I overcame the limitations of having a smaller tactical capacity relative to other worlds by placing a powerful garrison in the gravity well. As a reminder, there are no factories there.

Wow That's really cool! I'll see if I can Upload any photos from my empire but since the Advent is my favorite race there will be way different structures. Oh and different planet types since i'm using 7DS.

Here are some of My advent Photos:

There is no such thing as too much defense

There really isn't

Here's one from 7DS

Not even the pirates were able to fight me

I'm quite confused. How did you obtain 7DS?

Let me guess... Radamanthys is an 'Industrial' type planet.

Admit this though: the Rastaban system is easily the most eery star system in the galaxy.

Alright. I just downloaded the mod for the extra 8 planet types, but whenever I try to extract the ZIP, it says that I need a disk to complete it. Can you help?

Xelloss, your English is brilliant:thumbsup: . You don't need to worry. Unfortunately, I can't help you with your technical problem.

I like the Color choice for your empire. I always use this color as it best represents the Advent. :)

To Xsellos- Reporta tu problema en los foros Technicos. Aqui es nomas para subir fotos del juego. Que te pase buena surte con tu problema.

I believe you have to download a 7-Zip extractor to unzip those files. But i'm not quite sure...
