a couple minor suggestions

1) maybe it's just me, but interstellar speed seems a bit fast to me. they charge up and then zip over so fast. I'd like the trip to take more in the range of 20 - 30 seconds. it's mostly an aesthetical thing, but it would emphasise the vast distance between stars a bit better and I do not think it would impair gameplay that much.

2) another issue of speed: sometimes it feels as if capships are produced too quickly. these are supposed to be very big ships and they cost a lot. I do not want to get into the issue of their balance, this is a strictly aesthetical matter for me and, while affecting gameplay, does not indicate I want to weaken them in any way.

3) could we have slightly longer capital ship names? I always thought they were a bit short, but lately I say I could not even try TDN Enterprise. consequently, also USS Enterprise would not work, which must be nagging at star trek fans.

the other thing about names is just a bonus: it would be nice to have the names we type in appear as small letters on the ships hull. think of it as in babylon 5 where earthforce had the ships name at the sides. already, the kol has ... well "KOL" typed in, so that could be expanded. a bit smaller I guess to not make long ship names take too much place, but I guess one could find a nice little spot on most ships to put it on. who knows, vasari could represent the name in some strange language or writing style.

as always with those things, it is not a priority, but if it does not detract hugely from other things, I think it would be very appreciated.

4) a little issue I had with stacked units and selection. imagine you just conquered an enemy world, but want to leave part of the force here to protect it and another part to move on and attack other targets. now, you either use unstacked and sort through large masses of units to pick who stays. or you select them visually, which is just as much work.

I'd like an option, where I can press some extra button, and then, every time I left click on a stack, I select one unit of it. the number of selected units is displayed in the lower left corner, as the lower right one displays the total amount of units in the stack. that way, to select a bunch of different frigates and cruisers I do not need to expand the empire tree for myriads of units or go through the pain of selecting visually. I just make a bunch of clicks in the empire tree and be done with it.

of course, one might argue that such small unit counts are meaningless and the 10er stacks are fine enough for dividing forces. or that in the small forces it would be of any use, even the unstacked option is clear enough. nevertheless, I would like to control my forces this way. it would also allow me divert some firepower during a battle to other targets.

5) stacks the second: when we order our units to attack a stack, does it still only attack the first or does it attack all of them? I didn't check the last time and I definately want to have an option for the latter available, in whichever form.

that is all. thanks for reading.

Just the one unit, unfortunately. It used to queue the whole stack in beta, but was lost somewhere along the way to release.

Agree, would be nice for it to return.

What do you mean stacks?

I like the idea for ship names, the Marza has "Dreadnought" written on its hull and if you look close you can see LRM on the Javelis frigs, and P4 or something on the colony frigs. I think writing on the Advent ships could look good if done right but might ruin their clean lines. Vasari ships look bad enough as it is though, and its not like Vasari is the same as English with the letters swapped for symbols. They should remain unmarked.

stacks. well, in the empire tree you have the option to display units in chunks of larger numbers - stacks. usually that is 10 units per stack, so instead of 50 individual symbols for 50 say lrms you get 5 symbols that each "contain" 10 ships. what I said was that it would be nice to select ships inside the stack with ease, so you could select, say only 5 of those 10 ships.

yeah, I am not sure how good names would look on vasari ships, I'm open to that. but since advent are splinter group of tec (or at least they had dealings with one another, and it is basically the same race) names can work here.
