how do you get a ship to join a fleet?

i remember doing this before , but i've managed to forget how .

I want newly produced ships to join an exsisting fleet .

Also when a ship joins a fleet will it automatically assume the same engagement rules? if not can you make that happen ?. I dont like seeing a huge fleet chasing after a scout , i like having my fleets on 'hold position' while they sittting idle .

Set the factory's rally point on the fleet (you can click the fleet icon in the empire tree as the rally point target). Note that it sends the ship to wherever the fleet is, but if you have more than one fleet in the same gravity well, there's no guarantee that the new ship will join the fleet it was rallied to (no idea why or how it's decided, just how it is).

It should in the beta patch. If it doesn't, bug! They didn't before the beta patch, though.

I'm trying to figure out how ships joins up with the fleet in general. Other than setting the "Join Fleet" option on and sending them all phase-jumping, I'm not able to figure out a way to easily make single or multiple ships join any existing fleets. It's getting quite annoying by now...

Am I missing something here?
