New player questions.

Considering how long it seems to take I doubt I will ever play online, but I had a few questions about the advent.

Personally I don't like them (I find the voice rather annoying) but it would seem like they have a very powerful late game fleet that works best by staying in formation using each others abilities to augment eachother. 

My question has to do with the gardians and the repulse ability I keep hearing about.  What exactly does Repulse do?

Pushes opposing ships away. Very useful for isolating a target set of ships.

When you're ready to play the game in online multiplayer, you will be much, much happier that you learned to play Advent instead of TEC.

That may be true,  I just happend to pick TEC since it was the first I got on randome.  I have not done much with the Advent or Vasari either.  Advent, a little more so then the Vasari.

It's defintely a good idea to become familiar with all three races' strengths and weaknesses.  Once you become an experienced online player you'll probably only play Advent or Vasari.

I played a game with 2 ai players using the vasair.  It was a harder to get started but your right they are a lot better in the late game and the resupply from returning armada is nice. I did not realise what it did until at first.  Only that I kept getting ships in systems I did not remember placing there.

It could just be me but it seems like in this game I don't have to micro nearly as much as other RTS games.

To expand on my above post. I have come to find there is less micro need on the rts end because we have it on the 4x end.

I think 4x element that I love about the game. 

You average RTS (command and concor) sytle as I like to call it just does not do it for me anymore.

Sure there are some good ones like CoH and WiC that are different enoght in their own right to make it good,

But with what sins has done.  Its something I am addicted to.  Took the good for 4x and added some rts. 

With exception of Halo 2 and Chromhounds of the xbox no over game brings me into the lets do this mode.

 

And get a better feel for all the fleets may have to go online and get my ass kicked a bit and fight some real people
