Rode out Ike

WOOOO made it through Ike!

I'm not in a costal town by the way I'm about 60 miles inland but we still got winds packing in at 80mph.

In case your wondering I'm using a wireless card, we haven't lost cellphone signals even tho we have no power.

From Kingwood TX (just north of Houston)

Power back on, internet access established.

Spent the day cleaning the block.  Life is good.

That looks a lot like the aftermath of an Illinois ice storm, but without the, umm.... ice XD

My sister lives in Huston, I haven't heard from her yet.

Same thing going on here except without the power (running a generator).

A friend of mine lives in the outskirts of Houston and called in to say his family are ok and their home took no significant damage.  Good news, that.

They expect power to be out for up to three weeks because they're in an outlying area.

The storm was supposed to make a beeline towards the Kyle area as a Tropical Storm, but it missed us completely.

We got Tropical Depression Ike here, with gusts over 60 MPH, and most of the state (Ohio) had power problems (parts of counties). Depending on where in Ohio to Ike's track, anything from branches down to entire trees.
