PSATs Are a Pain in the Ass!

ARRRGH

*sigh* Well, today I (and most of the Junior class) took our PSATs today and it was hell. It took 3hrs to complete and I've filled in so many damn bubbles I think I'm getting arthritis....the part that really sucks is that I have to do it again next year for my damn college entrance exam because this one is a stupid practice one. I can't believe I just wasted three hours of my life on that, I hope I get a scholarship or I'm going to be so pissed....

Well till next time,

I loved the PSAT...it qualified me for National Merit Scholar and I wound up getting a full scholarship out of the deal. But yeah, it's a boring test.

Yeah, I got the National Merit Scholarship too. But unfortunately, it only helps you if you go to a school that cares. So that means all I got was a title.

Three words: Not enough time.

For the first two "critical reading" sections, you have to average one question per every 1.04 minutes, NOT INCLUDING the reading passages. Ugh, I hope I did well.

don't worry there aren't as many smart kids in your class so most likely you will get something just think i will have to take it next year. YUCK!!!!

Tractor, it's not just a competition in the class, we're competing with kids across the country, everyone who takes the PSAT this year is fair game for scholarships.

That's true Andy.

Just FYI, 215 got me National Merit Scholar. I don't know where the cutoff was, but I expect it wasn't much lower than that. So I'd expect the cutoff this year in Ohio to be hovering right around 215.

Trust me, if you get NMS, you will get numerous letters from colleges with large sums of money printed in various places. Good stuff.

Oh, sounds nice Alan....money makes you feel warm inside....

alan, how do you reckon the cutoff would be around 215? Is it different from state to state?

Are you suggesting you set the standards around this joint? Huh? You pompous ass. (<--hilarious if you watched Wednesday's Daily Show)

Alan, you asshat.

I got a 208, and didn't get anything.

Well, I got a piece of paper that basically said, "Nice try, but no money for you." I'm a Commendated National Merit Scholar.

Guess that's what happens when you aren't a clinical genius. Oh yah, and what happens when you blow off the PSAT. I had no clue that there was a scholarship involved until after the fact.

Peace,
